I was back in UK at the w/e looking at "Sevenesque" kit cars, (factory builds).
A typical BEC (bike-engined-car) with a Hayabusa engine costs a 'mature' driver (over 30 say) under £150 per annum. A 22 year old driver was paying £210 p.a.
Now I know that the kit-car industry is in it's infancy here in Spain, whilst in UK it's a thriving and competetive market-place for cars and insurance alike.
Does anyone know of an insurance company/brokerage that is familiar with the kit-car market. (I'm based an hour north of Valencia, but that's no biggie as my saloon car insurance is done remotely over the phone).
I know that several marques of Seven-clones exist here in Spain, Dax, Westies, Caterhams and MK-Indy. Someone somewhere must be insuring 'em?

Try Abbeygate Insurance (http://www.abbeygateinsure.com/) they are very competative.

Thanks for the replys.
Chordiant------I'm resident here in Spain and Abbeygate are a UK insurer. I want to do everything 'kosher' and although I know I could "work something", I'm 63 yrs old and don't need the hassle. I have pals here who are resident and insure UK cars and delude themselves that they're covered with a UK reg car, roadworthines cert, (supplied by ITV) and all the rest. Bottom line is "have a bump" and lets see what the insurtance company says.

What a charmer 10navigator is. Asks for advice - then throws it back in your face..!!

I too am resident in Spain. Abbeygate insure all 3 of our vehicles and our home isnurance. They are based in Valencia and are NOT a UK-based insurer. In fact, they work out of Gibralter. Unfortunately, I had a minor bump in the underground garage in the S-Class (my fault) and the claim was handled extremely quickly.

Abbeygate are a HUGE Insurer in Spain - so please don't slag them off before you know the facts.

Chordiant.
I was merely stating the facts as I understood them. I've been in contact with Abbeygate in the dim and distant past over an unrelated matter and they couldn't help. I was unaware that they had a presence here in Spain.
Thanks for taking the trouble to advise me. (Take a chill pill).

Abbeygate's policy is not to offer cover on kit-cars, whether factory-built or otherwise. Telecon today, followed up by email.
