Wonder if anybody can help, I´m bringing a classic bike over from the UK and can only get 3rd party insurance (Liberty Seguros) for it here it Spain. Does anyone know of a Spanish Ins. Company that will do fully comp. or at least 3rd party fire & theft. Conversely any UK companies that would give me similar plus a 12 month green card.
Thanks

I'm with AMV. As far as I'm aware their a Moto only insurance company. Haven't claimed from them, but service has been very good.

I have insured all my bikes and cars through a Company called Rowley Insurance who are in Mallorca, they deal principally with Liberty Insurance, now they have insured everything that I have and all fully comp, the latest ones being a FLSTC 1450 H-D motorcycle,a Corvette C5, a Discovery TD5 & a Range Rover Sports and they are all insured Fully Comp.

Mail yvonne@rowleyinsurance.com and say that Neil told you to contact her and also say you know what vehicles that they insure for me, she has always been very helpful not only to me but friends as well.

Best of luck

Called Yvonne she was most helpful but can only offer insurance through Liberty Seguros and they will only insure classic bikes with 3rd party cover.
Emailed AMV and they will not insure UK registered vehicles.
Thanks for taking the time to respond though, it’s appreciated.
Awaiting one more response from a German company and if that doesn’t work it’s on to plan B which is Liberty 3rd party plus adding it to my home contents policy.

You could also try Ibex, based in Gibraltar: http://www.ibexinsure.com/. A lot of their policies are underwritten by Lloyds of London syndicates, who can be more flexible in the types of risk they take on than the big corporate insurers. They were the only insurer prepared to provide more than the basic TP cover for my Spain-based UK-plated TVR a few years ago.

Tried Linea Directa, Abbeygate and Ibex, none would do fully comp. on a classic bike.
The German agent found a couple of insurers that would do it but only if it’s Spanish registered. Given that, on past experience it takes 6-8 months to achieve (H plates), I have gone to plan B.
Thanks for the input
