In the throws of deciding between a 911 and subject to test drive an evora. I hated the 911 manual gear box (specifically 1st gear pulling away) so I have been searching for 911 c2s auto.

I'm trying to get down to Cheshire to test a 2nd hand evora (I live in Newcastle) but Im wondering about the manual gear box for tootling around town - is it always straining to be driven hard?

Many thanks

have an evora S. Whilst the gearbox does not encourage fast changes (tis loosening up though) I find the car easy to tootle around in. It is very civilized and the steering and ride quality are to be admired at any speed. Having said that I prefer A and B roads.

My S is also loosening up nicely. Engine and gearbox settling in really well: exhaust is also starting to sound much better. Whenever I take a passenger out they cant believe how well it rides and soaks up the bumps. They are even more impressed when you put your foot down.

Very civilised on all roads and yesterday whilst having a crazy few mins on some B roads my daughter said it was just as much fun as the Exige! So best of both worlds. Why would you buy the Porsche! And before anyone says it: the quality is also great!

The Evora IPS (automatic in normal speak) will be hitting the showrooms within weeks.

I agree with the above - I am on 13500 miles in a launch edition model. Able to pick up in 5th at 25 mph therefore if necessary you can tootle. Hey - but who want's to ....

When did your exhaust start to become louder and sound better? Mine is still a little too quiet in sport mode.
