EVO LOtus Promotion
Discussion
As well as an 'advertorial' in the new EVO Magazine, promoting the Evora, I've just received an invitation from EVO to test drive of both models on a joint EVO/Lotus weekend at Silverstone. This is what Lotus should be spending their money on....

Ahhhh but were you selected?http://www.evo.co.uk/vip_evora
Would be interested to learn how many places there were
Really pi$$ed off with the whole EVO thing.
I subscribe to the magasine, currently drive 911 turbo and was genuinely interested to take part.
Both my girlfriend and I booked over the net the moment the magasine turned up (1 week before regular public release).
Neither of us got selected.
I find the whole thing misleading.
I had 3 Lotus Elises in the past and this kind of experience gives me an even lower opinion of the brand.
Thumbs down to Lotus: if you try and brand yourselves via EVO and provide this sort of outcome, you may as well avoid doing the whole thing altogether. It is like shooting oneself in the foot...

Same here! Drive a 997 but have a real soft spot for Lotus.
Currently have an old Esprit and have had (and loved) an Exige.
Received the 'invitation' and got very excited, have genuinely been considering the Evora S.
Then got knocked back, felt a bit foolish for believing the invitation was a personal one (should have read the small print).
So it left a bad taste. I still like the Evora, but the enthusiasm to go and try one has been blunted.

Interesting you both got turned down, I'm a 997.2 C2S owner and I got my invitation okay. Previously owned a VXR220 too so I've got some experience with Lotuseses, seems odd I was chosen and you guys weren't. Did you get as far as the phone call?
Personally I'm really looking forward to the day, should be very interesting to compare the two cars. If the Evora S is as good as I hope it will be, I'm going to be very tempted...

I've no idea how I was selected, I drive a 7 year old Impreza. I guess I just must fit the marketing profile of Mr Mid-Life Crisis.
