New Evora interior next year

Not sure if you saw it mentioned in Autocar mag this week but they are outsourcing a new interior for the Evora to a German company who also do the R8 and a few other top cars. Interesting....

Can't remember, definately the design...

Checked with factory team (given I have an S nearly built! and was therefore a bit concerned ) and was advised that this is not correct. No changes planned for the Evora other than the IPS box. All efforts are focussed on Esprit

I'm in the same case , but another interior question : is the Premium Pack Suedetex like the Silver Evora from Lotus Roma at www.mobile.de , with complete interior (doors, roof, steering wheel...) ? It's very fine, and I'm thinking to change my order.

Cabin engineering will be outsourced to CSI, which engineered the cabins of the Audi R8, Merc SLS and Porsche Panamera.

VERY BAD NEWS FOR ME, I'd put a lot £££ into the purchase of a car which is no considered outside of the Lotus World, with heavy loss after 2 years, and now beeing the "old" model!!!.

I'm not amused.

I have checked again with the factory (for the reasons you outline) and have been assured yet again that there are no changes planned for the Evora. In fact it was pointed out that the Autocar article makes reference to DB as the source on the Exige changes! but no names quoted as a source on the Evora changes which they suggest gives no credence to the points made.

I did get some acknowledgement that 'others' were looking at interior design but that this was for the Esprit.

Furthermore it was suggested that Lotus would be mad to announce an upgraded interior so soon after releasing the "S': as who would buy prior to the changes being released!

I can only hope that the info I have been provided has integrity as like you I will be hopping mad if I discover misinformation at a later date.

I'd be amazed if they did change the Evora interior. Yeah maybe outsource the planned Élan/Esprit etc, but I can't see any advantage to changing the Evora interior when the car only has a couple more years to run..

don't see why you guys are getting so upset about. Every car is updated and if you wait for next year you can always get a better product whether it be an iphone or a car. By buying the car now what you get is the enjoyment of driving it.....YOU LUCKY B@@@@@@S

Buying a Lotus (had 5 of them since 2001...)is nothing for guys with tiny nerves and anxious spirit!!!

despite of all, I catch a post from a french or switzerland lotus-engineer who is currently working on the new Evora transmission on the project "Brookland" which is the Evora update plan.
He confirms the new interior () and new features for ... END OF 2011!

I hope that can't be true, but in France we say "no smoke without fire"...

Rather than get all worked up for nothing, it's best to take a "wait-and-see" approach as something tells me the Evora S will have the new interior changes even if it means being delayed a bit.

Yes sir - I will do that!
When I ordered my "S" in september, it was my best choice, so why become anxious ? It's still the same now!

You all assume a new interior will be better. It might not be. Besides you must have liked the current interior to have ordered it.

I prefer my 2007 spec Elise interior to the current more rubbery one, by quite some margin.

Danny bahar has already shown that his taste can be questionable. And for what it's worth I think the evora interior is superb. The car I sat in felt very well made too.

Hi. I came to the same conclusion, and I cant imagine them doing a massive redesign given costs. More likely some tweaks to give a better quality feel.

That's something it already has imo.

I think it's more about the new regieme putting their stamp on the car. That's of course if they actually are planning to update the interior at all. I mean autocar has got things wrong before.
