Evora vs Excel
Discussion
The Excel is a bit heavier than that - about the same as the Evora. In good tune, the late model Excel has 180bhp, the Evora has 286bhp.
I dare say that with all the advances in safety legislation, the Evora is probably a lot safer in a crash as well.
Still, the Excel is a cracking car for a bargain price. The engines are reputedly good for 150K miles (they're the NA 2.2 litre from the Esprit, so not very stressed and pretty well sorted). A late one has full leather, electric gubbins and air-con - and though the electric mirrors will probably not work, the rest seems to hold up ok. As a bit of fun, you can't go wrong and won't feel too worried about leaving it outside in the rain.
That said - once we've built our garage, I'll be looking at an Evora!

That's the bit I'm not sure of. Some cars were a lot safer than they needed to be compared to current legislation, after all you only have to just meet the legislation whatever it is.The Excel even has bumpers
