Evora vs Farbio GTS

Pistonheads classifieds has a 59k Farbio and a 54K Evora.

Which one do you take and why?

Farbio isn't available in the USA, but it does have more presence than the Evora...

The Farbios a nice looking car, but from behind the wheel I suspect the Evora would be more involving.

I'd be asking myself - "Am I sure Farbio will survive a recession and if they don't who will look after my car".

It's the relatively small support network behind the Farbio which means I'd discount it.

Given that that perticular Farbio seems to have been for sale since the car was launched, I would not hold out much hope.

The press seem to have gone relatively quiet on the Farbio, which doesn't bode well. It got a lot of "the next best thing" coverage when first launched, but once the dust settled it neither has the brand of a Porsche, or the involvement of a Lotus.

As for Tuna's comments about being less involving than a lotus... Have you driven a GTS?

I've driven plenty of Lotus's [ Loti? :-) ] and nothing's been as involving as the Farbio

One of the magazines did a test on both and the Lotus was way ahead.

Having said that don't believe the press as they are all liers anyway. Their job is to sell papers / magazines, not print the truth.

Rant over just buy the one you prefer, that way you can't be wrong.

Sorry, I didn't explain it very well - what I meant was that after the initial "new car launch" hype, there's not really much background noise establishing what the Farbio is about. Porsche have the brand reputation for bulletproof cars, Lotus have the reputation for stunning handling. I'm just not clear what the standout reason to buy a Farbio is - and now that the initial press coverage has died down, no-one seems to be name checking the Farbio as a car that fits a particular need very well.

I doubt you'd be disappointed if you bought the Cayman S, Evora or Farbio - but which you choose is likely to come down to what you want your car to be 'about'.
