Hi, I am a long term Elise owner thinking of changing to an Evora as a more all round capable road car including touring. I have sat in, but not driven, a couple of 2010/2011 cars offered for sale and one thing that struck me was the heavy clutch, not so much a problem in open road driving but potentialy a p.i.t.a. in slow heavy traffic. I have read that changes were made in the 2011/12 period to imptove matters. Can any one confirm this from experience? Failing that I might be persuaded to look for an IPS but they are few and far between. Any advice appreciated.

I’ve done 50000 miles in my Evora 400 in all manners of traffic. No issues at all. I realise this doesn’t actually answer you question though.

I think it's fair to say that any manual sports car with decent torque is going to have quite a heavy clutch. The clamping spring has to be "substantial" in order to suppress clutch slip. The alternative would be a very long pedal, probably rendering the car undriveable. Or a servoed clutch, like servoed brakes.
