Slightly tongue in cheek question obviously but I'm about to sell my Aston and look for a replacement, a manual Evora nearer the £30k mark rather than £40k...
Firstly any advice? I drove one 6 or 7 years ago and loved it but ended up in a V12 Vantage, now I need to release some funds for a house refurb, don't know a huge amount about Evoras other than enjoying the one I drove back then and I think it would it would really fit the bill (and not be a Porsche which seems the only other 'sensible' option).

I narrowed my options down to Evora or 997 too, given that I need a small back seat for small children. My budget requirements were similar to yours.

I found a manual Evora S from a wanted ad on a well known lotus forum and was offered a couple of similar cars. I'd recommend you do the same: there wasn't much on Autotrader or Pistonheads in my budget at the time.

I bought a 2013 manual Sport Racer a few months ago - looked at an Aston Vantage & Audi R8 but the Lotus won it for me. Doesn't beat them for performance, HP etc, but the exclusivity, sublime handling, more bespoke feel and the fact its British and I am not too far from the factory (I've got a bit bored of the BMW"M" & AMG stuff having owner 6 such cars over the years).
Haven't looked back so far and have been really pleased with the positive feedback from many people on my travels biggrin
Every journey is an event...& I haven't been able to say that in any of the cars I have owned in the last 15 years.

Totally agree - I nearly went for a Vantage, (bored with M and R8/911 land) - but tested an Evora S and wow - such a fun car....and a proper drive when you want it.....I think the Evora is a bit of a hidden gem....

I could be tempted to sell my launch edition if you like bright colours!

Have to admit a Plan B, keeping the V12!

It's definitely a bit of an animal and better on European roads than ours but I'm not quite ready to let a 6 litre V12 with manual box go yet, maybe another time though as I still really want an Evora at some point.

I applied man maths and remortgaged the house.

Much as I support buying an Evora (and it'll be the sweeter handling car) I think you are probably making a good financial decision.

Refinancing a house just as interest rates are shooting up may sound a little woolly but a v12 Vantage is bound to increase in value. Super rare, very desirable and really a one off, the new one is a completely different beast. I salute you sir smile

I like your V12V, been looking at them recently and it’s nice to see one in a decent colour other than black. Do quite fancy one at some point but sure I’d miss the Evora.

I’m not sure any car is bound to increase in value, especially as the economy is looking under pressure.

Car prices have crashed before and many people caught a cold.

As much as I enjoyed my Evora, I would have been minded to swap the V12 vantage for a V8 for £30k and pocket the difference.
