Does anyone know this car?
Discussion
Hi all, as the title states does anyone know this car:

I'm just starting my search for an Evora and have noticed this one has been for sale for a while now, assuming they may accept a lower offer.
I will have my TVR Griffith 500 up for sale next week if anyone is interested in a PX!
Thanks all

This isn't the most helpful reply.......but yes.....someone does.....I was reading a thread about it a month or two ago and the previous potential purchaser was commenting........I vaguely remember theyre being some issues with it.
It may have been on the Lotus Forums.......
Sorry I know its not a lot of help!

This was my car for a short while. The air conditioning never worked for more than a couple of days before breaking and dumping all the gas. After the car spent 11 weeks in the first 5 months of ownership back at the supplying dealer trying unsuccessfully to permanently fix it I rejected it and eventually got my money back.
The dealer auctioned it off.
It will need new front wheel arch brackets, battery cover in boot, sort a leak into drivers footwell and a permanent air con fix then it will be great. Fantastic car to drive.

The Mud flaps are missing completely in that picture I think. When I left the car with the dealership both mud flaps were in the boot from the repair shop. Repeatedly accessing the air con in the wheel arches meant the screws would no longer go into the bracket so they left them off until new brackets were to be sourced.
It is strong money, it is exactly what I paid for it in July 2019 at slightly lower mileage.
When I left it it needed a new battery after being in the repair shop for so long it went flat and wasn't holding a charge, after this is was stored at the dealership for another 8 months whilst I pursued a rejection (the dealership refused to refund even though the faulty was present from day 1 and they couldn't fix it)..
The battery cover in the boot was missing and despite promises they still hadn't supplied one.
The drivers side mat got soaking wet when stored outside the repair shop for a couple of weeks during a period of heavy rain. The cause was never explored but could be front screen, rear screen, door seal or blocked HVAC tube inm the footwell from what I found out.
With no air con i had to run the fan on full and the control knob would get very hot, hot enough you only touch it for a second. When the aircon worked this wasn't a problem as wouldn't need to run the blower on full.
The company that attempted to fix the aircon said they had replaced everything apart from the compressor (they said this was working fine) and were convinced the pipework going through the tub was at fault and that was beyond their expertise. They said the repair would be so expensive due to labour involved in pulling the car apart that the warranty company would rather buy me out of it. It would pass every leakdown and pressure test they did after being regassed and they couldn't find the problem.
The car drove fantastic apart from this and I would happily buy another but looking to get one from a Lotus dealer with a good rep that could actually fix things next time.

Sounds like if someone is to buy it they want someone who knows what they are doing to look over it.
'strong money' is rather relative at the moment. There isn't much on sale, what is is selling above 30k for even early cars. That would make it about right for a SR. Supply and demand, people are buying at these prices so it's the right price right now.

Looks like this one has been picked up by another dealer with £7.5k added to the asking price!!!

You'd hope they would have sorted everything for that price but it's still missing mud flaps so may not have had anything sorted...
