Dealer is taking the piss. We should really be told who to avoid. Shame about ph rules
Might not be as simple as that, I know that with the 19/20 LS marked tyres that Lotus themselves paid a high price for the tyres to amortise having their own compound/construction. Even when I was working there virtually getting cost price I could get them for 100 quid cheaper on Camskill.Even though there was a warehouse full of them next door I would literally order them off Camskill, deliver them to home, take them to the workshop and get my technicians to fit them
The dealers may be contracted to buy the tyres from Lotus in which case you're guaranteed a crap price! Alternatively they may just be taking the piss!

But lotus sell them cheap via Motorsport auctions.

After a long story, I ended up buying some pzero asymmetric's which were the sooper-dooper lotus compound (can't remember the code, L2 I think or similar) they were £915 a pop. Thankfully lotus bought 3 and I ended up buying one of them.
Next time i'll be buying michelin pilot super sports which are great tyres, a hell of a lot cheaper and what the new evora 400 runs on.

Great tyres but considerable setup changes to get the handling and response back to Lotus standards!Next time i'll be buying michelin pilot super sports which are great tyres, a hell of a lot cheaper and what the new evora 400 runs on.
The LS marked Pirelli r20 rears are on Camskill for about £420 quid!
That's it- the LS. They've stopped making them though meaning that many advertise or claim that they're cheaper but then can't find any. I'll re check camskill though as they were the 20's...(the £915 was direct from lotus Hethel)
Wookie...do you mean new set up required for the pilot super sports? The poise and sheer drip of the evora now is ridiculous, I had it hunter realigned once I had the new tyres on. Annoyingly the garage were reluctant to take it out of 'standard settings' even though I asked them to reduce the camber on the rear to below 1 degree to reduce wear so i'm not sure how i'd get the alignment right if the super sports needed something different....

Are they them? If so, that's £500 up the sh***er then....argh. Oh well we live and learn....
This is why I usually steer clear of mean dealers!!

Yep, Spring rates, damper changes the lot! The 400 has got a considerably different setup on it and not just to change the ride/handling compromise focus of the car
Find a different place with a hunter, I dropped the camber to just under 1 degree on my SR and had a minimal impact on the handling; slight reduction in ultimate rear end grip but transitioned more gradually, nothing you'd notice on the road and you get the added benefit of better tracking stability on the motorway. I got over 20k out of a set of rears!
