just picked up my evora s... first time with a lotus.
couple of quick queries...
1) i noticed the traction light comes on fairly quickly from setting off. i then can't put on the sport button
2) where can i buy the splinned tool to remove the wheel bolts
3) any tips for jacking? the points seems a long way under the car, and my low profile jack doesn't get near them. i have barge boards on the side, which isn't helping much.
4) to access the sump area, do you need to remove any floor area?
thanks

2) where can i buy the splinned tool to remove the wheel bolts. Should be in the boot with the locking wheel nut key and the tow bar attachment.
3) any tips for jacking? the points seems a long way under the car, and my low profile jack doesn't get near them. i have barge boards on the side, which isn't helping much. ha ha know that one. I have a low profile jack with turned down wheels and that only just reaches. I normally drive the front onto a couple of 1" pieces of wood to give me a bit more room.
4) to access the sump area, do you need to remove any floor area? Yes. And the floor bolts will normally be a PITA, copper slip them for next time.
enjoy. I have had mine 2 years and love it.
thanks

Agree, but additionally.
Point 2, if missing there are some on eBay, or better Elise Shop
Point 3' if you jack the rear the whole side will raise and you can then get any jack under the front. If you want a jack that will reach the front jack points then Sealey 2000leq will do it (took me a year to find one that reached).

Thanks for the tip on the jack -- will look it up.
I just took my second spare jack to the dump on the weekend; sounds like it would have come in useful!
Where do you jack at the rear, if not on the pads?
I only jack on the pads, front and rear. Never had much of an issue getting under the rear pads with a low profile jack, it's the front ones because they are so far under the car. I just took my second spare jack to the dump on the weekend; sounds like it would have come in useful!

Mine has barge boards as well.

Splined tool should be in a pouch with the wheel lock key and towing eye
Jacking, I use 2 1 inch thick planks, I can then get my low entry jack to the pads and I also have barge boards
To access the sump area I take my car to Lotus
Couple of tips, the mudflap brackets rust and are tricky to replace as the bolts rust too. I have coated the bolts in grease and painted the mudflap brackets. The access panels for the headlights are in the front wheel arch liners, lubricate these bolts too so you can get them off when you need to

I'll try a bit thicker wood -- what do you do if you need to get a wheel off on a trackday?
thanks for the greasing tips.

thanks -- ive booked it in to an independent near Guildford for a check-over; I guess they'll know about the traction light.

Back on Track? Top guys but don't forget to take a packet of biscuits for that extra special service I'll try a bit thicker wood -- what do you do if you need to get a wheel off on a trackday?

If you are local you should come along to the Newlands Corner meet 3rd Sunday of the month. A few Evora owners are regulars and more always welcome. (Given your location you may also find SELOC and The Lotus Forums valuable resources, half of SELOC seem to live in Guildford - I am Colin P on those forums)
