Sale vs purchase price

Hi folks. I was wondering what people paid vs sale price of their car. If you don't want to state the numbers maybe just add the discount achieved and maybe where from?
Would be good to know what is realistic.

Good question as I will be selling mine as soon as the one I want comes upWould be good to know what is realistic.

Some considerations:
Private sale vs Dealer Vs Main Dealer
If its a dealer, then the margin they have to play with
Are you PX'ing or cash Cash isn't always king
do you want the car serviced before you have it? new tyres? MOT?
Cheap isn't always cheap but a canny buyer can 'save" by buying the 'right car' and package

Used evora don't see much in the way on discount, think a few hundred rather than anywhere close to a grand.
i bought mine used before it hit the murrays website and i believe, and have no reason to doubt, that there were people behind me if i didn't go for it.
It's like anything else, supply and demand.
I dare say there are deals to be had on brand new cars right now.

With residuals being so strong (at least once the car has gone through its initial plunge) dealers have far less incentive to discount cars to shift them quickly because it's not costing them very much to have the car sitting on the forecourt waiting for the right buyer.
Agreed, and unlike a part-ex K-reggie Micra with more dents than flat panels, it's something they'd be happy to have on display!I didn't even try and ask for a discount as I was PX in my daily driver and the car was wrongly advertised as a 2+0 with no options. It had only gone on their website the night before and even the sales staff didn't even know it had come into stock. So I immediately put a £250 just to hold the car until I viewed it a few days later. I wasn't able to test drive it as they had only just got it in and hadn't put it through their workshop but I knew it was a great price and I wanted it. A year later and I see car with similar mileage and options like Ice White paint and forged alloys going for £2K more!
If you are thinking of buying in winter then you might get a bit off. There's a really low mileage launch edition at Oakmere Lotus going for £29950. This is extremely good value in my opinion.

The Oakmere one is a bargain if it has the new gear cables and they will warranty the clutch. Most early cars had clutch issues sorted under warranty. If you are thinking of buying in winter then you might get a bit off. I am tempted to look at it, its the same colour as mine but mileage is lower and I put 20k miles on pa, so low mileage is a benefit
I spotted that Oakmere one a couple of days ago too. It's now sold already.
The "attractively priced" Evoras sell in no time, whether they be at 30 grand or 55 grand price levels. The secret is to act straightaway, otherwise you could be waiting ages. I shouldn't get too hung up on sale price v purchase price.

I have seen one I want but it's not with a Lotus dealer and the price is at least £5k over the top. I think the dealer in question over valued it on a p-ex. If the price was right, it would be on my drive now.
Just make a polite offer and don't take offence if it's rejected - haggling is usually about meeting in the middle somewhere...That's Frimleys car and it's very nice, not as over the top as the one I am after.
Aimee called me about the black one with red trim last week. My main problem is that for me it's a daily driver and all 3 packs make a difference. My current one has all 3 plus tubular exhaust, barge boards, 2012 gear cables, etc. Makes it hard to replace, the only reason for changing is so that if doesn't end up with stratospheric mileage

I'm in similar position, although only do 6-8k pa but I also have some nice mods. Considered one of the new Motorsport green n/a sport racers, and the B&C GTE but just cannot justify the cost to change. These being twice and three times a good trade in price respectively. Combine this with the likelihood that the former would lose 40% of its value in 3/4 years I'm of a mind that even if you ended pup with a "worthless" car over 3 years it would still work out to have cost less.Aimee called me about the black one with red trim last week. Im beginning to think it'd have to be something pretty special for me to trade up(hence the GTE) but then I don't want to feel guilty about using it.
