New 400hp Evora
Discussion
This is pretty much all I hear.
'At the Geneva motor show next (this) March, Lotus will have a heavily revised version of the Evora featuring changes inside and out, about 15 per cent more power and less weight.'
So the 400hp thing is pretty spot on, that with less weight sounds interesting, no real idea how much and hopefully not by stripping out stuff that you option back in. Probably cost a bit more than the latest sports racer version but by how much I wonder?
We'll find out soon enough. Geneva isn't too far away. Didn't they launch the original Evora there also?

Any idea when this is due to hit the road? I heard something about 2016, seems a while to wait if they're announcing it in March.
The US chat is that it's Model Year 2016 - i.e. 2015 in human speak ...It will be interesting to see whether it's a further tweak of the current engine (intercooler + more boost perhaps) or a newer Toyota V6 (blown 2GR-FSE perhaps) which might make it easier to charge a bigger premium...
The deliveries of the V6 Exige were delayed by 6 months due to the then new owners/ management wanting to make sure the quality was there before sales were delivered .
It would be logical to assume the same will happen with the revised Evora ???
Paddle shift Exige has been announced but deliveries are not due until late Spring.
I still think the car will be worth waiting for

The new CEO, Jean Marc-Gales, has always been to keen to say that they will not announce new cars and confirm delivery dates until they are 100% certain they can deliver. New Evora is planned for launch in Geneva and availability will be announced then. But Lotus are federalising this one for 2016 MY as already pointed out, so hitting the road mid to late 2015 seems reasonable.
But he has been open in various interviews about what it is - lighter, 400bhp+, revised interior, easier access (narrowed sills), front and rear restyle (think GTE or Mansory but less extreme)
Here's one of the 20 GTE's just delivered -

Is there room in the engine bay for an LFA V10?
They're not building the cars anymore, but there must be some spares kicking about - it's almost the Toyota parts bin, and it would be an upgrade Lotus could charge a few bob for
Not even close. They're not building the cars anymore, but there must be some spares kicking about - it's almost the Toyota parts bin, and it would be an upgrade Lotus could charge a few bob for
Transverse V6 to longitudinal V10 would be a bit tricky I'd imagine.

Brakes, ride , handling in that order and 276 or 345 does not make much difference in my opinion.
yes but it does to the wider market... and this strange perversion limited it seems to England only at the mo with cries for less power and less grip - we should all revert to driving 2cv's etc - doesn't matter. the UK market no longer counts in the bigger picture, its every other mkt that's important especially when the competition keeps upping the hp. you can get a hatchback thats cheaper than an evora S with more or less the same hp.
lets not go back to the stone age 'ah but it will have it in the corners' again ....
lotus cars will get far more expensive / bigger ticket and end up with more power.....if they don't they may as well give up...
You make a good point , mine is only from my own perspective, having owned n/a and s IPS , used n/a IPS. As an aside the IPS is the icing on the cake. However I agree buyers look at the spec first and if it does not meet their aspirations then no test drive and then no sale for Lotus. Only the converted know the benefits!
