Bought Evora five minutes ago

OK - I am now an Evora owner. I have been a VX220 owner, an Elise owner, a TVR Chimera owner and a BMW z4 coupe owner. I came into some dough and test drove a load of different cars - 996 turbo (boring), 997 C2S (horrid ride), Jag XKR speed pack (too much like an old man car - but WHAT a noise). Then I drove an Evora. It was the only car that I got out of and wanted to get in again. The rest became a disappointment immediately.
My choice - an MY12 Evora S IPS (I know but I end up on the M25 a lot so it makes sense) in Autumn Bronze with black leather and red piping from Lotus Silverstone. It was an ex Lotus manager's car with just them as the only previous owner and services every six months (suspect if I had access to a Lotus garage at no charge I'd get my care sorted that often too). And because it was their car it is utterly FULLY loaded. Every single option ticked. The colour is not to everyone's taste though I quite like it myself, so I managed to crunch the price quite a bit, got six month's manufacturer warranty and and got them to throw in a £1200 service and wheel refurb too. Just turned from a rather poor deal to a rather good one overnight so I took it.
For me - this is the purest balance of comfort and driving pleasure I have ever had. HOW DO THEY MAKE THE RIDE SO SMOOTH????? I have two kids 2 and 4 yrs old who are both quite small so expecting to be able to take them out in it once in a while though we have a Chelsea tractor too so its not going to be a regular family car. It just seemed to tick all the boxes for me.
I spent most of the weekend weighing the whole thing up based on what the depreciation might look like if I got bored of it after a year and wanted to sell it. I reckon that given this car was £75k when it left the factory and I got it for 50% of that its probably done its balls already - so really if I do end up losing anything on it, it should only be a few grand. That's a small price to pay for the pleasure of owning this car.
So here we go. A new car. A brilliant car. And a whole host of experiences to come. Now just got to wait to pick the thing up....

Very well done...
You`ll find that the more you drive it and push it, the more it will reward. From what I read it is mixed about the gearbox (manual/auto), but given the roads you are using what you have done makes sense.
I would not worry about depreciation if you got it for that price!

Welcome to the club. I have the same car but in black and which was also an ex Lotus car. IPS is great, I hardly ever use the paddles, only on hoons and the occasional blast on clear roads. The throttle blips on downshifts in sport mode are

I love a beautiful car but and I've been driving a wolf in sheep's clothing for a year so its time to step it up a level. I have to say I was skeptical about IPS - then I drove it, and it was just so brilliant. I am so fed up of 1st to 2nd changes on the motorway on long painful journeys. This appears to be the best of both worlds - relaxing when you need it, rewarding when you want it. Surely everyone wants a wife that's a posh lady when you need her to be and a total animal in the bedroom? Same thing here. Two cars in one as far as I can see.
Assuming it's this one:

Wheels look good as they are. Not sure the sports racer (i.e. black) sills would suit that colour either.

I'm with Mr Overheads; keep the diamond cut forged alloys. I also agree that the standard look suits the colour more than a sport racer type paint job (yours already looks the dogs doodahs as it is!).
I like mine with the stock paintwork as aquamarine blue isn't really one that would go well with the sport racer black bits and it does show up the nipped in "waistline" on the doors rather well anyway. I think autumn bronze is similar in that respect and also a pretty rare Evora colour too (it's the only one I'd seen in that colour until photo of the one with the black sills and splitter you posted) - I'd be inclined not to mess with it. If it was me I'd spend the money on petrol instead because you'll just want to keep driving it!

You should re-post your photoshopped version with the original for proper a side by side (or more accurately an above and below) comparison.
Another picture below from Holby City with actor Adam James at the wheel. If you keep it standard when you move it on you can cash in on the TV connection for definite.

Great looking car. I think I'd go with the sports racer look. Silverstone did mine in vinyl - sills, front splitter & mirrors (I decided against the roof). They did an excellent job and as it's only vinyl, it can be removed.
For the benefit of blueg33, here's a picture of mine - it's quartz silver so similar to Storm Titanium.

Thanks Neal, that looks really good. I have black bargeboards so reckon it would look good. For the benefit of blueg33, here's a picture of mine - it's quartz silver so similar to Storm Titanium.
My car is due a service next month so I will have a chat with Aimee.
