Silly question time...

How do folks best take measurement of the oil using the dipstick and avoid all the smearing taking the stick out?

As the dipstick is in a tricky position to get out, I find everytime I take it out I get oil smearing up the stick which makes it extremely difficult to guage the correct position of oil on it.

Has anyone come up with a way of removing the dipstick after a clean and dip so that you avoid the smearing and can get a clean reading?

Apologies for the stupid question, but its getting so that I can't get a good reading where the oil is as I have it smearing all up the stick.

Thanks for that. More or less what I do and still get smearing.

Right, time me thinks for a slightly new design on this front, a better
way of viewing oil levels or removing the dip stick...

First real mod to the Evora.
