Short review of Evora SR in Evo
Discussion
Nice short review of the Supercharged Sports Racer in this months evo. I'm really starting to see the appeal of the Evora, in fact I think it will make my ideal next purchase, seems to have the perfect mix of exclusivity, looks, fun weekend toy, everyday usability, low'ish running costs. Was thinking of dipping my toe back in TVR waters next year but will definitely take a look at the Evora. Hopefully the 2011 S will be around the £32k mark then!

The biggest problem Lotus have is actually getting people to try the Evora. Most people who do, love it. They are awesome cars. I really don't know what I'll replace mine with..
It's really is a superb mix of performance, looks, practicality and running costs.
Mine seems to have people taking pictures, pointing, asking questions all the time

Probably not in the shops yet as it arrived on subscription this morning. Must admit the more I look at the Evora the more I like it There's a lovely Laser blue one for sale at B&C but up at £43k.

The biggest problem is that they were launched and then marketed terribly.... It's really is a superb mix of performance, looks, practicality and running costs.

No S spec for too long, wrong price, quality woes, gear change and fairly pointless 2+2 (or atleast badly mismanaged expectations) and then add to that the factory uncertainties and as a result poor depreciation. And then Bahr rolled out his car plans rubbishing all that went before.
But as you say get to drive one and they are superb.
I think that they will be a car that has much more following amongst enthusiasts in the £25 - £35k price bracket and prices will firm up at that level due to rarity and appeal making them a good car to buy and own if you are happy to take the long view.

It does help if it is bright orange though. The car does look stunning in that colour IMHO. No regrets at all since buying mine 6 months ago. It's really is a superb mix of performance, looks, practicality and running costs.

Does look very good, wonder how the black roof, skirts and splitter would look against that blue. You say not that common a colour but I've yet to see an Evora on the road in any colour! Part of the appeal to me.David Vivian's observations of the Evora almost exactly mirror mine and I think it's fair to award 4.5 Evo stars to the car, the main criticism being it's price and minor issues with the interior.
If they were £8-£10k cheaper, I think they would fly off the shelves...or is that just wishful thinking.
