black evora spotted
Discussion
OK, so maybe a bit belated in terms of when I actually was 'in contact' with the car, but last year I was lucky enough to have the use of one for a long weekend so if it's pictures of a black Evora you want, fill yer boots here.
The 'Office'
The view from the 'business department'
Not a lot to see here - anything visible behind the 'letter-box' gets a lot smaller very quickly!
Even less to see here - the 'oily bits' are well concealed, but the sound-track they provide in the cabin is to die for.

HI Alfa4ever,
where are the pictures taken?
I now own that Evora, had it for about 2 months. Loving the car.
Ironically we are in Wales at the moment, which could be where you took the photos.
cheers

The pictures were taken in the Kirkstone Pass in the Lake District - I was driving from Edinburgh Airport to Manchester Airport and back again and decided that with a car like that under me, cruising down the M6 was not an option. In fact, I managed the whole journey without ever touching a motorway.
I too absolutely loved the car. It just wasn't a long enough time with it, but I'm now looking for one to have on a slightly more 'permanent basis.
haha, we did try and work out where the photos were and the lake district was the other option.
I to had one for a long weekend and knew after that I would get one. Have owned it for 2 months now and to tell the truth the thing I find most surprising is how nice it is to drive every day. Very comfortable and easy to live with.
Did you borrow it from Murry?
cheers

You might not want to hear this but it was a Hertz rental car - albeit in their 'Adrenaline Range' so not something that was given out to just anybody.cheers

At the time, I worked for Hertz as a Fleet Controller and as part of a long service award I was allowed to choose any car to have for a long weekend. A 'no brainer' really as both my wife and I have been long-time Lotus fans, but couldn't have one (until now) for practical reasons. As she was flying back into Manchester after a charity trek to Base Camp Everest, it seemed only right to welcome her home with an Evora. We even managed to get all her kit in without too much squashing so it proved to be surprisingly commodious.
My run with it was its last with Hertz. The 700 odd miles I put on it by the time I returned it on the Monday afternoon took it past 7k so it was defleeted to Stratstone in Leicester. I 'volunteered' to take it down for them but they stuck it on a transporter instead - spoilsports!!!
I'm going to look at a Burnt Orange Launch Edition at Murrays this week - lovely colour but I feel it's maybe a bit too long in the tooth for me. There's a very nice Solar Yellow (2010) one at Christopher Neil, but the unregistered (2011) Ardent Red one at Lipscomb looks very tempting. So you'll probably see me announcing the arrival of my Starlight Black one on here in due course  .
I hope you keep enjoying your 'toy' - I'm looking forward eagerly to getting mine.
Cheers

Hi Alfa4ever
haha, thanks for the feedback. Explains why I am having to spend quite a lot of time getting the paintwork back up to scratch (ouch!). To tell the truth my theory with cars like the Lotus is the performance is so much more than most cars that it is only once you have had them for a while that you can really start to ring their neck so hopefully it has not been given too much abuse. It certainly drives nicely (and I have driven quite a few)!
Good luck with colour, sounds similar to my thoughts. I looked at the orange one at Stratstone Lotus, looked fantastic in the showroom but just could live with the car on my driveway. Red looks great and was my second choice, just could not find a suitable one. Black always works on a Lotus, but they I would say that, on my 4th black Lotus now...
BTW interior is more colour dependant the exterior IMO. Black and red work, cream should but personally not sure.
cheers

Hi C43
Car rental companies are not known for using lambswool mitts, 2 buckets both with grit-guards, followed by several hours of cosseting with a selection of Auto Glym (or similar) products, that's for sure. More like a quick scrub with a stiff floor brush (I kid you not) to get rid of the muddy bits then stick it through the automatic washer. :-(

[whistle nonchalantly] I might have hit the rev-limiter once or maybe twice during my 700 miles [/whistle nonchalantly]DISCLAIMER: The respondent accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage resulting from any actions alluded to in this post

oh well, it is getting the full two bucket, lambswool mitt and lots of dodo juice now with detailed attention to the scratches so getting there.
And as far as the rev limit is concerned, I think once you have owned / tracked a Lotus 3 lights flashing on every gearchange is normal when pushing on. Funny a friend of mine bought an S and the first time the gearchange lights flashed at him he thought he had broken something from reving the engine too high..
