Very close to trading mine in at the moment...even been given a price...it is very hard to use with a new baby...even in 2+2 guise...a child seat that can be used before 9mths old won't fit in the rear. It's a luxury I can no longer justify now that it is barely used and I am going back to a 4x4! I have made matters worse my recently getting a new BMW 320d Sport too...it's just so much easier to use, park and much more efficient on fuel too.

I have loved the Evora though and will be sorry to see it go. I just can't decide whether to replace it with a Land Rover Freelander, Disco 4 or Range Rover Sport. Am I mad?

How about 50-50 50% on a family car and 50% in a lotus/caterham you may even want that to be 30-70 ;-)

That is tempting...but the age of the Lotus you can get for half of my c.£33K budget puts me off...values seem to have surged of late....to think I let a mint 57 plate Elise go for £14K 15 months ago too...they are going for a lot more than that now! I think I could only get a troublesome Rover K series engined Elise abd leave enough money for a 4x4.

There are a number of Elise owners on here and SELOC looking for Evoras, could always see if someone was interested in a trade. wink

If you already have a sensible, practical 3 series why do you need to replace your Evora with a 4x4?

I am actually looking for an Evora but I live in Italy and I would possibily go after a LHD example. There are very few examples on the used car market in Italy and I almost see all in my area (Turin). It would be a second car than I will use mostly in weekends and I would keep for long. I test drove three so far and I am pretty enthusiast...

OP, in 9 months' time you will be able to put the baby in a front facing seat and squeeze into the Evora.

How much will the Evora depreciate in that time? Not enough to justify spending the next 9 months in a Freelander. laugh

Yes I am a bit confused Lotusevora boy...you were looking at fitting modified induction and exhaust parts a few weeks ago....its sounds like a big change of heart or you have discovered some sort of expensive problem with the car? Maybe now you are to have a child or an additional child, you just think that such cars are an expensive luxury and are relatively unimportant compared to children...which from the perspective of a parent, would be absolutely right.

Torn about sums it up! Maybe I'm getting bored with the Evora, hence first thinking I'll keep it but tune it, now thinking of getting rid. Also worried about reliability once warranty is up in September!

Had a Disco 3 before...the BMW feels really awkwardly small by comparison...the baby seat just squeezes in and out, the pram only just fits in the boot...no room for people or shopping!
