Perhaps I am jumping the gun a bit, but I am excited, hey ho! I just ordered the Larini back box with slash cut tips and race pipe (the de-cat bit) toda. All should be on the car in a few weeks as I collect the car on the Saturday of the B&C VIP weekend (16th March).

I have also asked for the K&N air filter replacement and getting my forged anthracite wheels painted satin black so very keen to get the car back in a few weeks. Car is an 2010/11 N/A with what I think is the LR box. Photos and vids will be made asap after getting it back.

I agonised for weeks, nay months on what to get, what about the warrantee, will it be too loud, will it be too quiet etc etc and initially plumped for the 2bular system but I hope I am alright t say, Jim let me know that he hasnt seen much interest in the evora design he already made and its quite expensive to fabricate so he is going to be re-designing a single silencer system much like everyone else (Lotus - Janspeed and Larini and many others).

As such he let me know it would likely be a few weeks before he had a chance to get started (elise and exige orders keeping him very busy!!) and then a few more weeks to do it, which put any available date back a few months. Being the impatient sod I am plus the car needs a service and wanted it all done at same time, I plumped for what I could get now on the basis that I had a Larini'd Elise before a loved evety minute and tunnel in it.

Any other owners got that spec (K&N, Larini plus de-cat) any comments?

Thanks all

Russ

Congrats on the car, you'll love it.

I have the Larini and de cat and to be honest it's a little bit quiet, it gives a nice burble but never really gets loud enough for my liking.

Not sure about the Larini on an Evora, but must agree, the Lotus sports exhaust with blue tips and the de-cat pipe sounds awesome, comes across as a lot more than 6 cylinders and really builds over 3500 RPM. Cant resist winding down the window and taking detours to find tunnels. Will be off to the Alps with it this summer.

Lotus Silverstone supplied and fitted the decat. I was told by them that you also need to fit the MY12 down pipes and modify the under tray. It retains manufacturers warranty. Car came with the sports exhaust but they also supply these. Prices are all on their site.

The exhaust was purchased through elise-shop and will be fitted by B&C Lotus dealer in Surrey - my closest. Although I havent got it yet, car goes in on Sat and I get it back the week after. Vids and pics to follow!

No mil light issues with de-catting(i,e 3rd cat removal) on a evora.
Providing the main primary cats remain in place for mot time, you won't have emmission issue's either.

Does anyone know how many decibels the Lotus sports silencer and decat make?

I've now got a Larini exhaust and decat and with the sport button on it sounds fantastic. I find the exhaust nice and loud when you want it to be, but if you drive sensibly you can get around without offending anyones ears!

B&C fitted it for ~150. Right, so go the car back for a day on Sat - weather was attrocious so not much window down action, but first thoughts are I cant believe I waited a year to do it! On start up and normal driving its pretty much as before so motorway's are a doddle but above 4k it builds and builds into a lovely noise. No doubt this has made the car sound like it should do. I urge all owners to do something along these lines if you want a bit more oomph in the aural dept. Its also way faster too...

I also had the K&N filter insert added too. You get a nice sticker on the induction apparatus and feels like there is a stronger wooshing sound on acceleration but hard to tell in this weather! Pic of box and old 'yota filter below.

Some rubbish photos below of it at my work carpark today and a video link to follow once I have mastered how to do that on youtube. Pre warning about vid, was driving and recording turned it on while at lights and then chucked onto passenger seat so image is of roof of car - sound is pretty decent, i am driving through an underpass, you can hear the sound build and then build again rapidly as i pass through tunnel - sounds better in flesh (dont they all say that) and much better through head phones. More decent vids will follow once my camera woman is in tow!

Is the K&N an Evora part? Or something else?

I've been tempted by the radium but don't think the sound is for me. I know there wouldn't be any extra sound fRom the K&N but I've heard they are meant to be much better then OEM

Correct its a Lotus part - from the GTN Upgrade brochure - well worth a look and wish list!

http://issuu.com/lotuscars/docs/racing_brochure?mo...

Look at page 24-25 the power train upgrades, part number ALS5EO146J - that includes the De-Cat pipe, back box and air filter is £875 ex vat and fitting. I opted to coble together the same components but from different suppliers, so I bought the Larini de-cat pipe and back box from Elise Shop and the air filter from B&C and had B&C fit them at same time. K&N on its own was £130 inc Vat and fitting.

I had the gear cables done last year so apart from the baffled sump I have done the key bits!

Yet to drive the car properly post upgrades and been using the gf's polo so everything feels fast at the moment! I am sure it doesnt add much - if anything but on the basis that the radium upgrade seemed to offer so much - thought this was a nice step and a bonus that it was OEM.
