Finally ordered the necessary Pirelli P Zeros for the rear of the Evora, getting a reasonable price, including fitting from black circles.com. So I select my garage of choice, merc dealer, pays my money and then begin to look forward to shredding the old ones before getting them fitted. A few hours later I get a phone call saying that garage can't fit them...broken machine or something...but not to worry...black circle will find another garage in my area and ring back. You guessed it from the thread title...no one will fit them...bit nervous about the job in case they damage the rims. The woman on the phone said the last time she'd had this was when a Ferrari owner wanted tyres in Scotland.

I agreed I'd still take the tyres....they were a good price at £209 each...but they are to be delivered to me now, with me to arrange fitting. Looks like I'll have too to the local grease monkey.

Has anyone else experienced this? Have I been had? Should I have cancelled the order? A wheel is a wheel right...albeit a 19 incher... should the fact the alloys are fitted to an Evora matter?

I wouldn't worry at all about a local tyre shop fitting my tyres. Its a pretty straight forward job

Justin, I thought damage to the Tyre Pressure Sensors was sometimes a problem when changing the tyres?

I've never had this issue with mine and had them fitted by a few people.

If you want a national mobile service, try etyres, they fitted 2 on my Evora without any issues.

And I have TPMS as well. You just need to tell them that.

Sorry a bit slow in response here but TPMS is an issue as has been said.

Another issue is if you have 20" rear tyres, they require a large amount of pressure to seat the beads unless they're well soaped up and some fitters will want to use a cage if it goes over a certain level. Others are just brave/stupid hehe

I've used Event Tyres on a number of occasions now and I expect that they'll not have any issues sorting the tyres/TPMS for you.

Quite what they'd charge I wouldn't know but worth a call to them to discuss.

I used My Tyres for my last rear pair.
I also bought them 'fitted' so they were delivered direct to the fitters. The MyTyres website allows you to look through all the local fitters that they use, it gave details of what size of wheels they could cope with and also reviews by previous customers.

The only slight problem I had was that the garage insisted that I jacked up the car myself using their jacks (and with their help) - something to do with previous problems on other Lotus models.

My car also has TPMS - this was not a problem for them.

All in it took them about thirty minutes to change the tyres. They did a good job and even phoned Hethel to ensure they had the correct torque settings for the wheels.

19" wheels really aren't that big nowadays, I can't understand why you're having this problem.
