So...gonna get me an evora and I guess want.....

All the packs (see no reason to buy without seeing as they exist)
N/a - easily quick enough and better fuel economy! (Sad I know)

I think the 19/20 wheels look better. - but how do they impact the ride?

I've driven an n/a and an s - but it was sleeting so didn't exactly hurt them and both felt great and damn quick....are the cr box ratios the same as the s? I've seen it mentioned on other topics its a lot better....any views from people who've driven both?

Anything else?

Would like to buy from Silverstone ideally cos they're nice, but the starlight black at murrays looks like a really good deal....

All views appreciated smile

Main consideration for the larger wheels is the cost of the tyres. They're quite a bit more expensive, but do give more grip.

CR box is the same on the n/a and S. 1st and 2nd are the same with both boxes but the other ratios are longer on the standard box - so 0-60 times are unaffected but above that it takes a bit of a hit. Trade off is better fuel economy.

I drove both the CR box and normal, and being honest I couldn't tell much of a difference on my short drive. I specced the CR though, as was told it was a popular option.

20" tyres are expensive!

CR box is standard fit on the S, personally I wouldn't have a car without one. The CR is long enough still, the standard box feels massively long legged to me.

so wont bother with the bigger wheels then! ta for that chaps

CR gearbox...interestingly divided opinion - problem with something like this is that a test drive just doesn't cut it.....i reckon it might be the sort of thing that I notice more as time goes on is the worry.....(i.e. once totally familiar with the car)

You can see the difference in gear ratios and how that translates to in-gear speeds in the SELOC TechWiki as I filled the info in a while back.

Mine has CR box I'd recommend if you can find one with it.

My car has a CR box and does more than the legal motorway limit in third and 3 figure trackday speeds in the following gears. How long legged do you want it???

The ratio`s seem well spread and even a tad long legged. I would have thought that any longer legged on a N/A car would be noticeable (in a negative way unless you just want to cruise and have better fuel economy?) especially at higher speeds.

The standard ratios come from the likes of the Toyota Auris 2.0 D-4D, so they're set around lower revving diesel engines with considerably smaller wheels (195/55 R16), hence they are very long geared.

I had an NA with the long box before moving to an S. Obviously not a like for like comparison, but I found the long box just too long.

I'd expected the long box to be more relaxing on the motorway, but in fact I found changing down 1 or 2 gears to accelerate from the all too frequent 50mph limits anything but.

In my opinion, the CR box is fine for motorway cruising and much more fun for the 3rd gear twisties!

thanks all for input so far.....consensus is leaning towards my own view of CR box being a definite then....

Does anyone know this car/have any thoughts?

The cr box avoids the need to change down on the motorway for example as the pick up in my opinion with the cr box is sufficient . I have driven both over the same 150 mile route and know the cr box suits my driving despite the reduction
In mpg

I have the NR and comparing with a friend who has the CR I think I am getting about 5mpg better in the real world.
I have a late 2010 which is also 199g/km which makes tax a little cheaper, but to be honest that is not the point!

After fitting the decat and Radium we felt that shove 3rd felt about the same in the 2 cars.

However I strongly recommend that you drive both before you buy or you may regret it. (I am in the regret camp).

If my clutch ever dies I will look at retrofitting a CR box, or see of someone can shorten 3rd and 4th while leaving 5th and 6th as overdrive gears for motorway cruising.
