Not that I am loosing too much sleep over it because the car is very fast and its a price worth paying etc, but the exhaust does seem a bit rich, and the other day conversly I noticed it pinking at low revs when in sport....did not try it in normal mode. If I drive the car with reasonable care I struggle to get 20mpg, and if I raz around its nearer 16-18 area....and I expect on a track day it will be 10-15, but then most cars guzzle fuel when on trackdays.
The book quote 28.7mpg combined, which is a figure (combined)I normally achieve with my driving style....how do my findings compare??

average about 22mpg on commute which is mainly A roads.
However, more urban driving brings about 18mpg.
Never managed more than 24mpg or less than 17 but have yet to do a trackday-put off by the fact that the rear tyres last about 5000 miles and cost approx £400 each
Brilliant car though...

Got my last set of rear tyres fitted at Castles and they were £200 each (not happy with Castles in many other respects though, although all my own fault for not checking car more carefully prior to purchase...i.e. all tyres illegal after 500 miles of my ownership and I certainly have not been drifting or anything like that)....they were MO so for rear wheel drive etc, but my not have been the absolute right P Zero. Just been quoted £463 for fronts, so am bulking at that... mytyres currently do what looks like the right tyre for £140.70 each!

Yeah, I would not be happy at that either.

I had to replace mine about 8 months after I bought my car from Castle @ about 16k miles on them, so
wasn't too depressed about it. Used Hilton Tyres and found the price to be about the same as etyres.

Worth getting SELOC membership as that gives you 10% off any work that Castle/Hilton do.

18-23mpg depending on commuting or long journeys, which seems about standard.

They do tend to run a bit rich (it seems more in Sport mode, but I'll try and find out if that's true), but I am having mine checked out by Motorsport next week as a few mates have commented on the amount of smoke it produces

Spoke with Lotus suspension engineer the other night and he said the GTE 444hp never was...it was actually 375hp and after a few trackdays the engine failed...never mind the aerodynamics (horrendous front end lift, so more a marketing exercise)...anyhow...maybe they need to run a bit rich for this reason and whence all the cats....albeit largely fo the American market?

They do need to run rich to keep the primary cats cool as they're on the manifolds.

Can't speak for any of the other stuff!

Which size wheels do you have?

The standard sizes....can only remember the fronts right now....225/40 R18 ZR 92Y etc. I think the rears are 245/35 R19 ZR MO...must be for rear wheel drive as was mentioned on a similar thread a few weeks ago.

Camskill are worth a look then - £104 for the fronts, £205 for the rears both in MO spec. They don't have the rears in stock at the moment though.

I normally get them to ship direct to a local garage who charge me £10 each to fit them.

Just had a megga weekend driving the Evora...covered about 700 miles of a variety of driving styles. I averaged overall 25mpg, with the best at 30.2mpg over 120 miles of mixed road conditions driving in a smooth but not slow style....so overall I am not only absolutely delighted at just how competant the cars handling is (oh and comfortable), but its also reasonably economical on a run to boot.

On the handling front, the roads were all around Wales, with some signifcant rainfall at times, and it handled it all in a breeze, infact I would go so far as to say it handles the conditions better than any car I have ever driven (barely any aquaplaning or buffeting from wind), short of an offroader 4x4, and as for the rest of the group I was with...well, I cannot say too much but 3 did not handle the conditions at all...2 911`s (GT3 and Turbo 4x4) and one Aston (V12 Vantage)...went home on a tow truck!!

Fantastic! Trackday next weekend..then we will find out more about the other side of the cars character? Might be a bit soft, but maybe it will just be bags of fun and satisfyingly fast?

Car also superb on track....which consisted of very long main straight, two decent race track length straights, a very long double apex fast curve, and a series of chicanes.
The Evora in standard tune was quicker than everything other than an R33 Skyline and a race spec turbo Astra (stripped out, boosted engine etc), both on race spec tyres, and these cars were only just quicker. The Skyline pulled away cleanly down the long straight (500+hp) and the Astra crept away. Around the bends, they were both similar.
In terms of handling, it is extremely well balanced and you can make it behave pretty how you want and you would have to be very careless to spin it completely. The tyres did start to go off a bit after a couple of laps (4 miles each) but not disasterously, and the brakes were pretty much fade free, although did get a bit smelly.
Would I change anything?? Hard to say, one side of me thinks it`s such a nice car that it is a shame to track it too much, but the other side of me thinks I should fit some uprated anti roll bars, get another set of wheels/tyres for the track, and possibly change the brake pads!!

My mate asked me if there were any other cars in the paddock that I would sooner have and it was a clear no, and it was the same answer about the cars last week....911`s, V12 Vantage Astons, Jaguar XKR, Ferrari 360 etc,....no I`d still prefer the Evora. Yes the Aston and Porsche are leagues ahead inside, and the Astons engine sounds fantastic, but overall, the Lotus is the best for me due its overall outstanding capability in all conditions on an off track...The only car I would consider is the V6 Exige, but it lacks luggage space. If I can afford it, maybe an Aston one day when I slow down???..and 911`s, devastatingly effective in the right conditions, but the flawed balance shows up in the wrong conditions.
