Getting a bit bored of the interior of my car and as the leather is showing some signs of wear, I took the opportunity to go for a re-trim and add a splash of colour to the interior.

Been thinking over a few ideas and decided to go for something that was a combination of the following...

Where the seats will be done in the fashion of the Audi for the main centre, thin quilting on the bolsters in a lighter sable colour, but with the logo and piping from the Evora 2012 pics.

Still playing with some ideas, but that seemed to be the best thoughts so far.

Seen a few other examples such as...

...but wondered if anyone else had any examples they would be willing to share.

Alex, any thoughts on budget for such a task? make sure you post some before and after pics!

I have toyed with the idea of doing something similar, but I like the alcantara/Suedetex look personally, my dad had various integrale's that had that type of interior and I always felt it looked the business!

In reality I think the only thing I would consider Would be keen to replace the seats with MY12 models, I presume thats horrendusly expensive?

Quote for the work described as above plus adding a dash of red piping to the back seats (2+2) was under a grand with a bit of loose change left.

That includes...
- full seat retrim (x2)
- back seats
- leather/thread/materials
- etc

I've done a full bespoke re-trim project on my Sagaris (full interior) which was alcantara/quilting etc., but I wanted to stay all leather for the Lotus and keep the changes inline with the current interior biggrin

I did that sort of thing on my Sag seats...

...but not so sure it would work as well in the Evora without redoing a lot more in suede/alca.

Quote from Lotus is about £2100+ per seat for that design.

Yup. Retrimming route I think.

I wonder if it would be possible to included heated seats in the retrim?

Already have them, but yes, it is possible. I did it when I retrimmed my Sag. Only issue is where to put the controls - usually a rocker switch unless you want the factory buttons.

Interesting thanks. I would ideally like the factory buttons smile

Where are you based? I use Dave the Trimmer in MK for my seat retrims - he should be able to fit the Lotus parts as well.

We fitted a few Evora parts to my Sag last time smile

I go with what I know. Dave did a great job on my Sag and has been highly recommended by various Lotus dealers as well.

Plus he's done a few Evoras before.

The Evora was in for its small retrim this week of the seats and add a splash of colour to the sides and this is the result...

Before
Standard interior, charcoal and black. Nice, but a bit dull and boring.

After
Nothing radically different, just spruced up a bit to give it a slight splash of colour and make it more visually pleasing
to the eye.

I'll post some proper pictures when I get the car back, but what Dave did was...
  • to trim the seats with a bit of red stitching and piping
  • add some carbon effect leather to get a more distinctive design from them
  • stitch a new Lotus wreath design to the headrest
  • add some kevlar weave to the door sills to ensure they are protected from scuffing on entry
  • and add some small red piping to the door trim
Very pleased with the effect. I did not want to change the interior too much, just add a little bit of necessary colour
and make the seats much more interesting to the eye.

I think he has done a great job and looking forward to seeing the work in the flesh plus taking a few decent pics.

That's looking great! Really like that.. Dare I ask how much?

They look similar to the MY12 seats now

That looks great - as above makes the seats look quite like the MY12 Premium Sport seats and the matching piping on the door card compliments it really nicely.
