Ditto. Plus the fact that the car is so rare. Scotland has probably the majority of Evora owners but its seldom that I see another on the road. Just can't understand why others don't get it.Why don`t others get the Evora....its the perception of lots of trouble ususally serious. Why would you invest a lot of your hard earned in a great car, but with percieved suspect build and reliability issues, when you can buy a Porker which is essentially just as good, if not better in many ways...plus most owners are not purists and just buy the badge....want to look good in the pub car park without the potential embarasment of a break down truck?..better residuals aswell.
Lotus will not go forward until they can shake this image, unfortunately. They need some serious backing and need to get rid of the clown and his mates running it at the moment.

The lights, driving home in the dark tonight I thought they were impressive. Esp main beam.
Getting the back end out, it's pretty safe. And on demand.
The gearing. I am not sure which box I have, still, but it is long legged and pulls through a long range, making changes needed less often. Esp good on the motorway.
Fuel economy. Better than it should be!

Well, if reliability is the number one concern...might as well buy a Honda, Volvo, or Toyota...or any other boring brand. Porsche is bland....Lotus has flair...every model is a head turner. Ironically, I regularly see Toyota mr2 convertibles from a distance and think they are Boxters. Ironic because all the latest lotus models are basically Toyotas underneath anyway....so, all the reliability to be expected from major mechanics made in Japan...with flair body styling and British tuning I.e a Lotus, or Toyota body styling with major mechanics from Porsche I.e. A Boxter or Coxster. I know what I prefer...and it ain't German. Porsche says mid life crisis with a dash of middle class, want to be exciting but only dare play it safe, under stated image. It's the Marks and Spencer of the car world....solid, safe, expensive and everyone knows it. Shopping there, like buying a Porsche, tells people you are doing well. It also attracts the comment 'knob' from women when driven by. Lotus says to hell with it...young, brash, loud and proud, tells people you love cars (you'd have to in order to live with the niggles) and attracts the comment...'wow'. Porsche, like BMW, is in danger of losing it's aspirational image...just getting too common. As for residuals...compare an old Boxter with an old S1 Elise.Lotus will not go forward until they can shake this image, unfortunately.
