The Evora forum is very quiet and most of the Evoras seem to remain unsold in the classifieds.

Has anyone else bought one?

I have and overall it is great.

Is anyone else out there???

I had *just* about decided to get an Evora (used) instead of a 997 C2S, when I stumbled upon a road test of the new 2012 model. Now I'm not sure I could bear to part with my hard earned knowing that there is such a dramatically improved model out there.

Evolution is something we have to put up with in the used car market, but it sounds to me as if every area that was lacking before has now been addressed. Thus making the existing models a poor relation.

Specifically the gearchange, does anybody know if the new "Precision" cables can be retro fitted??

Don't know about retrofitting the gear linkage, but a lot of the detail changes were gradually introduced rather than all being saved up for the MY12 cars - it's only really the specification changes that were new.

Partly the announcement of 140 improvements was to get people (and particularly the press) in to drive the revised car as reviews were all based on the early press models, but it doesn't mean that a MY11 car built one day has 140 differences to a MY12 one built the next. Generally the later the car the better though.

Some useful bits and pieces on the MY12 changes here though: http://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php?tid=318501&...

Also worth remembering even with the 997 there is a change over between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 cars.

Had an evora S since March.
Really enjoying it and gear change is definitely improving with miles. I've had a new engine in mine after an oil pipe came loose and dumped oil catastrophically but sorted out by Lotus and Christopher Neil without hassle (incidentally had a similar problem with a 997 C2S with coolant). The new engine feels better and is more economical than the old (23 v 20 mpg on my normal work route. Handling/ride superb and is a pleasure even when in commuting traffic. I'm hoping it may be better in snow than an M3 although I'd prefer not to find out. Only downside is the attractive prices for used cars although I did get a discount on mine.

I've just bought one, had it a few days and really enjoying it (and it's not just the party line because of where I work, I actually went and bought an ex marketing car after having a 997.2 C2 for a year)

The later gearlinkages are a big improvement (I have them on mine) and can be retrofitted. Have a chat with your dealer about it. Most of the other changes are cosmetic, so I wasn't too bothered about having an MY2011 car.

Was it a high pressure line going to a VVT-i actuator by any chance?

Oil pipe is the limit of my technical language. However, the leak was from somewhere at the front of the car and not the engine bay, if that helps...

In the process of getting the IPS Evora S 2011 model.

If the new 2012 Esprit is going to be 110k+, then I'll stick with the Evora.

First person I've seen who's gone for the S IPS smile

How come you went for that over the manual?
