Evora prices seem to be all over the place...
Discussion
I have been lurking around lately as a serious potential Evora buyer. I love the things, as they offer something different and I like the ethos of a smooth, supple sports car that gets on with the job without the need to re-arrange your bones with a harsh ride. It seems to me that the Evora is the thinking mans sports car.
Anyway, over recent weeks I have seen how here in the PH classifieds, prices seem to be widely dispersed. The authorised dealers that control all the stock seem to have non S evora's punting around from under 40K ( even for delivery mileage only, effectively new cars) up to £50k plus ( and more for an IPS). Supercharged S models also seem to have wide price dispersion, with Christopher Neil punting a silver one with only 600 miles on it for under 50k, while other dealers are asking 60k plus...
It's all very confusing.
Is this because there may be a much rumoured "upgraded" Evora on the way with some styling tweaks and a nicer interior ? (although I must say the interior quality on later cars seems fine - the interiors seem really nice to me) .
Anyway, a question for the Lotus cognoscenti : what on earth is going on? Or am I missing something?

Yep, you are missing driving it rather than just talking!
There are some cars around at silly prices..Market isn't very efficient. Find one u like, pay reasonable money, and enjoy. When I was deciding between a year old evora and a year old 911, both had lost 20k from list..however there was still loads of disparities of the pricing with both marques... Spec is all important...which is why I ended up with a stupid orange one lol

some dealers appear to be much more 'realistic' than others. there was a 2011 2+2 evora s with 700 miles on in for £47ish k that sold quickly - its still on PH C marked as sold.. and offered imho value.
i suppose you can only speculate as to prices by end of year as a result of the effect of the v6 exige, a potential evora face lift -rag top - other true/untrue rumors, blah blah , evora S ips and literally no sales going through. who knows....
then again, as the market is 'fixed' the dealers can charge what they want (indefinitely?!?) which could be a big concern come resale / trade in.
each to their own

Another Evora lurker here... and I agree, prices are all over the place!
The Christopher Neal 'S' looks like the car Williams were trying to sell last week for 3 grand less, I gather Williams are no longer a main dealer and just wanted to move their stock, even so it's a price that must have a knock on effect on other cars priced at £10k more. I have to say the CN car was rather tempting but my days of hauling up and down the country looking for cars is long past. It's hard to say what the market's doing though, I know of many cars that have been on PH for a long time, maybe it's colour, spec, age, perhaps price. Certainly the dealers are holding the cards but if things aren't selling surely prices will eventually fall? The facelift rumours can't be helping and that's what's keeping me on the fence for now...

There is no facelift due anytime soon, so sitting on the fence means you're just missing out.
Agreed a facelift, or Mk2 is a way off but I'm sure I read somewhere to keep an eye out in September for updates, specifically the interior. The way prices are I'm happy to hold out for now and see how things develop. Edited by armco on Thursday 7th July 23:55
There will be no face lift to the Evora, someone started a story and that's what it is. Lotus would have to put any changes through testing etc etc etc it's not going to happen.
There will be changes to the internal's of the car, slight cosmetic changes to the interior, not worth holding out for. I'm buying an Evora but the true price for a 09/59 launch car is around 32k - 35k they aren't selling because they are too expensive Fact! 2010 car around 35k - 37.5k bargain hard!
Boggy

I'd bargin very hard indeed - you can get a new one for 42 from Murrays. There will be changes to the internal's of the car, slight cosmetic changes to the interior, not worth holding out for. I'd be up for a new 2012 MY version for 42 if it has close ratio box and rear seats and lifestyle paint....

It is the same car...It was snapped up quickly by CN after Williams sold off most of its stock very cheap.........If you go armed with this you could get a better deal...The Christopher Neal 'S' looks like the car Williams were trying to sell last week for 3 grand less, I gather Williams are no longer a main dealer and just wanted to move their stock, even so it's a price that must have a knock on effect on other cars priced at £10k more. During our tour one of the Evoras being built was a supercharged IPS. I wasn't aware this was an option yet at least not in UK Apparently it will be next week.
Was announced here: http://www.lotuscars.com/news/en/frankfurt-2011-sh...Being shown at the Frankfurt show.
