Low cholesterol, blood glucose and BMI
Discussion
I am what I would call a lazy b
d. I eat crap and don't exercise. I have a BMI of 25 (6ft 2" and a 32" waist), almost unconscious blood pressure, cholesterol of 3.78 and blood glucose of 5.3 (despite drinking a can of coke about half an hour before the check), you may be thinking what the hell are you complaining about then but I have a question.
In theory (which I know is a wonderful thing) if I was to eat healthily and exercise would all those figures improve?
I think I must have some sort of mutant DNA as my Brother eats healthily and exercises regularly yet has lurghi's (colds etc.) on a regular basis but I am the complete opposite. My concern is that if I was to start eating healthily and exercising, would I be leaving myself open for lurghis and those figures getting worse?

Your brother has more lurgis because he comes into contact with more people than you.Having low bp can be just as bad as high.
You don't need a high blood glucose count because you don't use your body for anything. The figures would change to match the demands of your body.
You do not have mutant DNA,you have lazy,unfit,bound-to-die-young DNA.
Also as you age your BMI will change for the worse as your body starts to need less calories,so you will HAVE to exercise or get podgy.

My Brother is a postman so outside in the "fresh" air every day and I work in a call centre full of lurghi's so that's that theory out of the window. You don't need a high blood glucose count because you don't use your body for anything. The figures would change to match the demands of your body.

By saying my BP is low I meant the low end of perfect not low as in no pressure.
My age is 32 and I have been the same waist size (32") for about 15 years and it is showing no sign of increasing.
My point is that on paper my figures look like I am a healthy eating exerciser so do I NEED to exercise and eat healthily? What other tests can give ideas on levels of health? I thought the main ones are BP, blood sugar, BMI and cholesterol.

Without sounding morbid you're doing yourself and your heart among other things no good.
Everyone needs to exercise and be healthy, just because you can't see the damage doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
You're no different than anyone else in that sense.

Heart rate,VO2 max are fair measures of fitness/health.
