Kidney stones - can you dissolve them?

I had an x ray yesterday (for something unrelated) in which they found kidney stones. Having suffered with the agony of passing these before, I ask you the PH Health forum for your finest bits of old wives tale advice: is there anything I can eat/drink that could possibly help dissolve the stones even if only a little so they are easier to pass?

There is a natural rememdy called quebra pedra which I believe is supposed to help dissolve them. Whether it works I know not.

There's always lithotripsy to make the passing of them easier...

Not sure what the discomfort level of the procedure is, or what it's like passing them after, but I'm sure a urologist will be along shortly...

Think it depends on what there made of, calcium based stones can be shrunk, but uric acid stones are motherfookers

Bleach, or Hydrochloric Acid.

No, I think you're thinking of gall stones. Gist is, lots of pectin to soften them, then max out fat intake with olive oli to pass them through the bile duct. Not recommended.

I wish there was. I had somehow managed to develop a 6.3mm and a 4mm stone since November in one kidney! the one I had removed last year was 6.7mm in my other kidney as well, passed all 3 as far as the entrance to my bladder where they then just stopped, the pain is just unreal! Paracetamol, ibuprofen, Tremadol and Morphine all together still doesn't get rid of it fully (morphine does help a lot though )

Kidney stones are an absolute bd!
