What that?Hypnotherapy does work - IF and the big IF you REALLY want to give up.
If you are kind of "meh" about giving up or not, it is probably best you go for the other methods (patch / ecig, something like that)
I went from 10-15 a day to social smoker (1 or 2 a day/ every other day). I really wanted to kick the social habit, and have had my first session last week, so far, not really wanted one or had the urging to go out and have one.
If anyone wants the details and can easily get to Wokingham / Reading area, I will happily pass on the details if they PM me.

Champix. Can make you a bit mental mind
Or dead!Suicide / Pychosis / Suicidal Thoughts
There have recently been a number of reports purporting to link Champix with an increased risk of depression, psychosis, suicidal thoughts or in the worst case scenario, suicide.
So far, a definitive causal link has not been established, although further research is needed. It could be that stopping smoking itself is the trigger for the suicidal thoughts. However, it would be adviseable that if you have suffered from depression in the past, or if you start to take Champix and you notice any of the following symptoms:
Depression
Changes in behaviour
Agitation
Suicidal thoughts or actions
You should inform your doctor immediately and stop taking the drug."

I've been a non-smoker for over 5 years now. Used to smoke for 30 years, mostly 60 Marlboro red a day

I quit in 2007 after reading "The Book". The strange thing was I didn't really want to quit before I read the book. A few friends of mine kept on going on about how great it was and that I'll definately quit if I read the book. So I wanted to prove them wrong and read the book and havn't smoked since.I bought it 3 weeks ago and never needed to read it, that's how good it is.

I bought a copy for my brother last year and yes he's not smoked since. Have an open mind and give a try.
Allen Carr's Easy Way To Stop Smoking - And it really was easy - just have some strange nightmares in which I have a smoke! I have even been out on a night out with smokers and been that pissed I can't remember the night and they've told me I refused a smoke when offered! Now that is a true test!
