Too much salt is bad, but since the whole "Salt is evil" message started being broadcast we've actually had a lot of otherwise healthy people turning up at their GPs with sodium deficiencies.
So go on, put some on your chips. Just don't live on ready meals or fill your cooking with it.

I don't mean to be confrontational but do you have any links to back that up? I took part in a study looking at salt intake and blood pressure that meant I had to follow a salt free diet for two weeks and it was bloody hard to do.Bill said:

Considering that the average British adult consumes 9 grams a day though, I don't think it's a major worry.

FFS, I've given up fags, hardly drink and my resting heart rate can drop to 44 BPM and still they lecture
