Are you asking on behalf of yourself? If so you should visit your GP.
My mum was bipolar and it's not a nice condition.

Thanks for the reply, but very few GP's have any training or knowledge on the subject of mental health.

It is someone very close to me. A family member who is a doctor, and had done psych training has diagnoised this, but I want to speak to someone in mental health for more specific infomation, and what I can do to support. Contacting the local Mental Health Unit sounds like a good start.
