Morning all. I'm developing an obsession with the gym these days and i've found an App for Android calle JEFIT - it even has animations so you can REALLY attempt to hurt yourself.

Anyway, i was just wondering what any other Gym o holics use? If anything?

Hi, just a word of warning with animations... I'm assuming its showing you how to do the exercise? I have no experience with this particular app, but I work at a gym with a technogym wellness system. High tech computer screens on all the equipment, and one of their many functions is that they can show you form for tons of exercises including free weight stuff as well as their own machines. The demo of a deadlift is THE WORST technique you could possibly do. Literally EVERYTHING is wrong with the lift. So just be carefull, and if it doesn't look right, maybe ask someone who can tell you if you don't know.

The bicep curl also envolves a small squat which helps to get the weight up!! One of the easiest ways to cheay while doing a curl. I haven't looked at many, but these two are very wrong. I've maybe looked at 10 out of 100's so who knows how many are that bad.

Yours may be brilliant though!!

ETA: to answer your question, I don't use anything like that smile

I just use pure enthusiasm. And a watch to know the time. I don't need some kind of app(lication) to encourage me to injure myself even more.

For setting out and recording workouts iPhone Gym Buddy is excellent - easily the best app on my iPhone. Click.

I should say that i don't use this to tell me how to do things correctly. Form for me is the most important factor, but i use it to track weights etc as my memory is shocking.

and yes some of the animations, if followed, are injuries waiting to happen and look as if they've been drawn by primary school kids.

Had a power meter on the bike, Garmin forerunner HRM for running, waterproof Ipod case and headphones for in the pool.

Training peaks and Garmin Training centre to keep track of it all.
