Unfortunately, due to using my face as a brake following leaving my mountain bike while still in motion, I have managed to end up with my front teeth being slightly in clip.

I've been looking into the idea of getting a brace or some form or straightening device for around a year or so. I stumbled across a couple of recommendations for Inman Aligners.

Do any of you chaps have any knowledge or experience of Inman Aligners? And also, would you be able to recommend any dentists who offer this treatment in the Manchester or Hereford areas?

Also, one last question; Does anyone know of a ball park figure for the treatment?

head over to www.archwired.com it's a site for adults with braces. I had normal braces for 2½ yrs and surgery, the difference is amazing, luckily mine was NHS but they should be able to advise rough costs on archwired

Both of my practices do Inman, it does have limited scope though so if you're a real snaggle tooth it won't work.

Ball-park, starting from price here is £1400 per arch, goes up depending on complexity etc.

Seen some impressive results so far

Many thanks, I'll have to get myself in for a consultation it seems!

All they do is expand the width of your arches( jaws) thus increasing the diameter of the circle that your teeth fit into . Of limited use. Big in the US . See jaw size of yanks like Carl Lewis!

Not necessarily. Inter-prox reduction is also used to gain space smile

Out of interest, how misaligned have your teeth got to be before the NHS will stump up the cost?

It has to cause problems either now or in the future. Mine weren't strictly misaligned. I had what is called an open bite so only my rear 2 (2 top and 2 bottom) teeth either side made contact. I had braces for 2½ yrs and surgery all on the NHS as it would have caused real problems in about 10 yrs with them being worn down. If it was private apparently it would have cost me circa 20k eek

email peterpeter, he's one of the pioneers of this treatment and has a massive catalogue of images of his previous patients showing great success.
