On Monday I had a severe bout of diarrhoea so I phoned work to tell them I'd work from home - didn't fancy a 3 hour commute with the runs!
Today I've still got the diarrhoea but it's been joined by vomiting, a splitting headache and, for some reason, a sore neck. (The sore neck maybe as a result of sleeping on the bathroom floor last night).
The girlfriend called NHS Direct and they told her to make an appointment with my Dr - all good so far. However, on calling my Dr she was told that the first available appointment is 4th Nov. Er... am I missing something here? By then I'm sure I'll be fine, so how do I get an appointment now, (mainly so I can get something to stop the throwing up and the sh*ts)!

If you have a local Walk In centre go there and say your GP couldn't see you. GP's get a lot of stick from them for that, especially for something as trivial as the sts!! wink

You probably need the magic term emergency appointment, which you phone up early on the day and book in for.

Phone at 8.30 and ask for an emergency appointment. If needs be go into great detail ( hehe ) about the symptoms.

If there are still no appointments then they will/should suggest the local walk in centre.

Or even tell you to go to the walk in centre despite having appointments, knowing full well that it is a GP problem!!
