Chap at work has been using one of these lately as he apparently suffers from SAD:

It's caused a few giggles.

He drives into work for about half an hour and gets to the office about 9. By this time he's had an hour or so of daylight. So, apart from making him look like a smurf, and it looking like an insectocutor, does this thing actually work? I thought he would need it on before he got up in the morning.

He does look funny with it on.

Never seen one of them before. My mother suffers from SAD, and has a massive alarrm clock with something the size of a basketball on top, and the light it emits wakes her up gradually when it's time to get up, and makes her less of a grumpy witch.

Seems to work.
The thing above doesn't seem to do much for my colleague. He is still a grumpy twonk!

Well, sorry if you don't agree but it's a load of bks!

[whingey voice]I get depressed because the nights cut in and it's dark when I go to work and when I come home[whingey voice]

Yes, don't we all, how about you just deal with it like everyone else and stop thinking there is something wrong with you. Or better still, fk off somewhere closer to the equator.
