Recently ordered some of this and tried it, results were pretty impressive. Stayed focused the whole time, didn't want to leave the gym and managed to increase my bench by 5kg and also leg press by 20kg.

What pre work out supplements does anyone else use?

Awaits people suggesting to just eat carbs before etc.

Until i see some conclusive evidence that it is not placebo effect that is making you add those sorts of figures to your lifts, i'm not interested :P

you 1rm both leg press and bench while on jack3d?
what was your previous 1rm and when was that 1rm done?

Thats fair enough, I just wanted to try it tbh. Going to try and use it every Sunday when I have longer in the Gym.

Didn't go for 1rm not a figure that really interests me, I definatly felt stronger and was more awake could just be the energy in it. I'm definatly not claiming it actually makes you stronger maybe just gives you more energy to try harder.

I'm having a look into these sorts of products at the moment, most recently the 'Surge' and 'Spark' products from Biotest.

I've really been struggling with the motivation to get my ass the gym; the only thing I want to do when I get off the train from work is to crash-out and / or eat.

If anyone has tried a few / knows a bit about these sorts of products I'd like to hear more about their experiences and whether they think they're worth the outlay Vs a Pro-Plus and a bit of determination.

Apologies for the thread hi-jack but I'd like to hear more about why you started to use 'Jack3d' and if there have been any downsides e.g. not being able to sleep etc.

Sort your diet and your sleeping and set some good goals for the gym.
Then... Go.
The hardest part is getting out the door. If you think a stimulant will get you out the door then you are mistaken tbh.

I'm not sure how well these pre-workout boosters would be in motivating you to go to the Gym but I did find I had more energy. I'm lucky in respect of having a training partner who asks what time we're going to the gym not "if" we're going to the gym.

I tried it out of interest in all honesty, maybe it is a placebo effect but if it works whats the harm. I did do quite a bit of reading into various ones like superpump and no x-plode but I liked the idea of Jack3d having no extras and the fact you only take a 5g scoop rather then a 40g scoop.

I had it around 1.30pm and got to the gym at 2.30 worked out for roughly 90 mins and did have alot of energy after. Didn't affect my sleep though but I won't be taking it on a evening if I have work the next day in case. A few years ago I used to drink a litre of Kick (Tesco RedBull) everyday so I'm not that sensitive to caffine or stimulants.

Hoping to hear of some other pre-workout stimulants around and if anyone has compared any.

You're both right re. a stimulant not necessarily giving you the "motivation" to go to the gym; I agree, that's got to come from...well me, and a new job, daily routine and no training partner etc haven't helped.

I felt like my main problem though, was coming from just feeling tired/numb/drained after the homeward commute and needing a bit of a meatphorical / chemical kick up the a*se, hence looking into the various "stimulants" avaiable.

Anyway, I joined a new gym at the weekend (close to the train station) and am consulting a friend (S&C / PT guru) re. a new plan and goal setting.
Hopefully this will be motivation enough for me to get back into a good routine but if I'm still struggling I'll give the Jack3d, Spark etc a try and report back.

I know plenty of folk that use jack3d and swear by it.

I don't think it is a placebo but it does seem to make some folk crash when the effects wear off.

I personally just use an energy drink which in all fairness I probably don't need now but still do it more out of habbit than anything else. When I first started I'd feel very off half way through a training session sometimes and was advised to use the energy drink they supplied. I'm not really sure how much it helped but it became a habbit.

Most of the folks I see and know in the gym seem to think it's the best pre-workout drink.

What kind of energy drink do you have RedBull, Lucozade or something else? I'm quite interested in trying these but I tried a RedBull before and although I had the energy I didn't really have the focus I thought. So difficult to tell though as my diet is never the same everytime and I also work shifts.

I just drink one of these usually;

But as the machine is often out of drinks I don't always. I really don't think it makes a great deal of difference for me.

I didn't think much of it and it also started to clump stored in my kitchen. Every usplabs supplement I've taken hasn't done what it was advertised to do, most recently pink magic.

Other than mhp dark rage (24 hours of maniac energy and can only be taken for lifting) I think these sort of supplements are well overrated.

DownUnder.

Not sure about Jack3d however I swear by No-explode, loads of focus, plenty of pump, more reps/strength feeling.
