Hi guys,

Another question for the knowledgeable people that browse this part of the forum thumbup

I have decided that the best way for me to move things forward is to physically break down what I eat and what workout I do each day.

Now I have tried a couple of sites, SparkPeople and one other and found both of them pretty crap to be honest.

What I am after is something that has a detailed list of foods/drinks that I can basically add to a table and breakdown how many calories I am consuming and also have the ability to input what I did at the gym, so a sort of calories in/calories out type arrangement.

If the software is tailored to me by height/weight/age etc that would be a massive bonus as well. For example, based on your height/age/weight you need to consume 2000 calories a day and burn 200 at the gym.

I am happy to pay for the software as well, I have not had any luck with the free ones online so if it's worth paying for, I will.

Any ideas or recommendations at all?

Do you have an iPhone? If so there are a couple of very good apps I can recommend.

Excellent.

iFitness is very good for tracking gym progress, and has had an unreal amount of updates since I purchased it a couple of years ago.

My net diary pro is very good for setting up weight loss or gain, is has a huge food index from popular shopping places in the UK, Tesco's, Asda etc etc etc and you can also use the camera as a bar scanner is you have a 3Gs or newer to scan a food item. There is a hell of alot more to that app so it
's worth finding it and reading a bit into what it can do. I think it's excellent and it was under £2 i'm sure.

ETA it's tailored to you personally, and also records calories in and out (gym exercises etc) also measures water consumed in a day and meds/vits etc etc.
Regards,

Matt.

Lots of the bodybuilding folk use fitaday.

http://www.fitday.com/

I personally used to use calorie counter by fat secret (runs on the iphone and android), now I just keep it in my head.

Think I mentioned it to you in PM, weightlossresources.com does what you want.

Massive range of foods, you can add your own, tots up the cal intake from food and adds in your exercise "allowance" too (again from a comprehensive database, even down to individual weights exercises in some cases, so you can build in your exact routine).

It may be one of the sites you've tried and not liked, but thought it worth a mention.

Edit am gonna take a look at Muskas suggestion too...cheaper than WLR.
