I just swallowed a bone. Am I going to die?

I eat fast, often too fast.

I'm pretty sure I just swallowed a bone from a chicken thigh, quite a large one at that.

1) Am I going to die?
2) If I don't die, what can I expect?

I fully expect responses such as 'get someone to go up your oxo tower', though a more informed answer may lie within!

I'm currently feeling a little discomfort (no pain, more like the feeling I need to burp)

ETA: The chicken tasted very nice, most important bit.

Overworked and underpaid.

Though the time taken to eat the food properly would have been more efficient than the time taken to post the above.

Will the stomach acid corrode the bone at all, thus making it smoother?

I think you've pretty much done the hardest part, getting the bugger down there in the first place The rest of it should be easy, nature will ake its course...
There may some acid erosion of the bone making it a bit more malleable, so I wouldn't worry.
