How can I lose 1stone 4lbs in 4 1/2 days?
Discussion
I’m supposed to be jumping out of an aeroplane on Friday doing a tandem skydive. I haven’t done one for 10 years and only just stepped on the scales to see that I’m now 1stone and 4lbs over the weight limit!
How can I lose this before Friday without causing my kidneys to shut down?!
Planning on:-
Just drinking just water and green tea
going to the Gym every day to do at least an hour of cardio
taking ACAI Berry tablets (apparently kills your hunger and speeds your metabolism – well I want to believe that!)
Then debating what my diet should be – was thinking cereal for breakfast & lunch and lean meat salad for dinner – will this be extreme enough or do I have to go further???
Any ideas gratefully received
(oh and I already know I'm a fat bd)

Put it back a few months. It's not healthy to lose that much weight. 2-3lbs a week weight loss is the supposedly recommended healthy weight loss rate. Not eating anything beyond THIN SOUP (NO BREAD) for a MONTH lost me 1 stone. I had a bowel op so there was a good reason for not eating anything solid.

You'll never lose that much safely in 4 days. Here's what the NHS say about fasting, it's tailored towards fasting for Ramadan really but it still applies.

The trick though is not to stop eating, but to raise the metabolism through exercise. Make sure to completely cut out any protein and fat, so eat pasta and pretty much nothing else, and only then not huge amounts.
The real trick is to exercise a lot, (3 hours a day at least I would say) and it needs to be running really or any exercise that won't make the body want to build muscle.
The final thing is to get a sweat suit and dehydrate yourself on the morning of the jump, but that is very extreme.

A more scientific answer would be that you need a calorie deficit of 63,000 as 3,500 calories equals one pound. Using average figures 2,500 calories ingested a day would maintain you weight, so you need to not eat anything for 4 and a half days (11,250 calories) and burn a further 51,750. The link here (http://www.coolnurse.com/calories.htm) suggests that if you weigh 200 pounds (I suspect it is rather more), then running at 8 mph would burn 1,038 per hour. Lets round up as you weigh more and call it 1,200 an hour. You need to run for 43 hours. That's only 9 and a half hours a day. If you get cracking and take the week off work you may just do it.
Alternatively follow others advice and put it back 6 months, as it aint going to happen.

Brilliant, love it. I can't imagine running that long without eating. Actually, I can't run that long even if I was continually eating.ShadownINja said:

I think this is the closest you would get which could well be close enough as I do think they are fairly flexible.
