I recently found out that I suffer with hypermobility syndrome and it's mainly affecting my right knee which easily dislocates, and the fingers in both hands which again dislocate very easily. Unfortunately, it has led to me having to work from home which is a struggle due to low pay as after the recent dislocation in my knee 4months ago I find that some mornings I struggle to get up and some days I am in constant pain or suffering from extreme fatigue.

Anyways! What I wanted to know was this : Is there anyway I can try to strengthen the ligaments/tendons in my knee? Or are there anyways to overcome the problem? I am currently wearing a hinged knee support that has thankfully allowed me to walk short distances, but I was wondering if there was anything else I could do to make life more easy? And as I need the knee support for medical reasons, is there a way of getting help towards paying for them as they are quite pricey but due to the need to wear them for everything from shopping to driving, they wear out quite quick frown

Cheers

While there are no doubt a few people who could give you a few exercises on here or have their own experience, i do think that you should go see a specialist, especially if you are limited in your work (case for disability allowance or help or something?).

I've got hypermobility of my right thumb, it has screwed up my deadlifting (so use straps a lot more).
