I tried, stopping was easy, staying stopped was much harder.
Look foward to the dreams / nightmares / erratic behaviour - read about the side affects, and be very aware that you could have big personality swings.

I gave up 3 1/2 years ago after starting on a similar smoking cessation aid.
It definitely took the edge off for the inital few weeks, but ultimately it boils down to will power and determination to succeed.
I smoked for 29 years, of which i probably spent 27 of them trying to stop.
I got there in the end. smile

Good luck, you can do it. yes

Yep used Champix last year to help me quit.

Definately watch the mood swings. In the early days I could have ripped someones head off if they had looked at me the wrong way! Made it easier for me mind and I've been off the smokes for just over a year with no intention to go back. I still get the odd crave but it's gone in a flash.

Round my way they wouldn't prescribe Champix unless you saw a councillor once a week. I really did not fancy that at the start. Not my bag, but to be honest it really helped being able to talk about what was happening and get answers as to why it was happening. You also had to blow in a machine and have a carbon monoxide reading taken to prove you weren't smoking still.

Good luck!

Mate of mine who was on 60 a day started taking it and has been smoke free for 3 months. He does have a major motive for keeping going as he has a new lady he wants to marry who lost her first husband to cancer and has said she will be off the minute she finds out if he has started again.

I think he means Allen Carr smile

Most people who read the book say they stop before finishing reading it, although I think the book specfically says you must NOT stop until the book tells you to.
