I often suffer from a pain/ache/numbness in my left thigh, just above the knee. Also get some pain in my lower back, left side.

The skin on my thigh feels like there is little or no sensation it it too, just in the same small hand-sized area above the knee that aches.

Years ago I used to get the same sort of numbness if I sat on a particular stool at the PC for too long. I assumed it was some sort of trapped nerve issue. Nowadays it seems to occur far more often, and usually just when sitting or even laying down.

Sciatica? Numb bum? Cures? Any ideas?

I would have suggested sciatica but really you need to see a GP who can give a better diagnosis than someone who reads medical books out of boredom. biggrin

My experience with doctors, he'd probe and squeeze, then prescribe pain killers and anti-inflammatories.
