Hi guys,

I have what I think is an ulcer on the side of my tounge however it does not look like an ulcer, it's under the skin.

Can ulcers appear under the skin? I've had it about 3 days now. Bonjela temporarily removes the pain however only for about 5 minutes...

Any ideas?

It probably is an ulcer, I'm prone to them, some last 4 or 5 days, I find bonjela once is good, bloody pricey though!!
Anbesol is also good.

I've had my fair share of them. I believe keeping the mouth clean helps. Washing it out with TCP, Whiskey, or mouthwash will hurt but may numb it for a while. If anything, it will kill bacteria in the mouth and help prevent future ulcers.

I also found milk good at cutting the pain.

Betnesol mouthrinses is the alternate, but not as good as Adcortyl in orabase from what I hear.

Goodness knows. Perhaps another company will pick it up and relaunch it.

Another good one I learnt a few years ago when I had one the size of a 10 pence piece on my cheek is Soluble Asprin. Works a dream!
