Ive got some strange thing going on with my left ear, basically ive got the same feeling you get when your ears are about to pop when on an airoplane and when people speak to me it sound like there are a robot!!

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same symtoms or any idea whats causing it and how to get rid of.

You've got an ear infection and fluid in your inner ear canal is causing the symptoms you describe.

Your ears are connected to your throat via the Eustacian tubes. So hold your nose and blow hard with your mouth shut.

Hopefully you'll hear a squeak and all will be back to normal. If not go to the docs.Had a cold recently?

Similarly, I have a problem with my left ear.

Started on Sun when I had a shower. Water went in and never came out. I'd been wearing plugs in the workshop for a few days before so didn't think much more of it. Had a go at very gently clearing out with cotton buds at lunch time. Now have constant ringing/intermittent heartbeat pulsing, and very poor external hearing. I can hear myself eating crisps just fine, but can't hear all the new people I'm meeting at my new job (and consequently look like more of a cretin than usual).

I'm usually pretty keen on letting things like this clear up, but maybe I'm being too blase in this case. What have I done to myself? Is my ear going to drop off? Is the ringing going to make me go all Van Gough?
