Recentley decided to up my cardio regime and started to use the new cross trainer machines at my gym, problem is that I can't get my feet far enough apart (design of the machine) so that my thighs don't rub together, I did 30 minutes the other night and rubbed the skin red raw.

I want to keep using them as they are much easier on my joints, knees, hips etc, running/jogging isn't an option and I'd like a bit of variety compared with that dam rowing machine and bike.

First thoughts were vaseline (could prove messy) and sticky tape (don't fancy pulling it off).

Any idea's ?

Don't wear shorts. Presumably the skin is rubbing against each other. Vaseline is the obvious choice if you must wear shorts.

Ask the trainers, thats what theyre there for. Vaseline would help or I guess spandex shorts maybe?

rofl

They aint fat wink

The machine has these pedals that you put your feet on, if you don't put your feet on them the machine don't work, my problem is there to close together.
I could put my feet on the floor and just use the handles I suppose but then rather than bleeding thighs my balls would be black and blue smile

Didn't expect that many replys at this time of night, the spandex/lycra under my training stuff sounds like a good idea

It's a common problem, I'd go with lycra cycling shorts - even if you wear these under a looser fit jog bottoms, this will stop thigh rub.

You make a good point - if the OP grows a vagina instead he might find the subsequent bouncing up and down on the saddle quite pleasant.

I have the same problem. Part of the trouble was wearing boxers/trunks under my shorts, as the material on the legs would rub really badly, so I wear briefs while doing cardio now, and also rub Vaseline on my inner thighs, which is both practical and incredibly attractive to anyone watching.

This. Not my personal opinion as I don't go anywhere near a Gym but as said this is a common problem and cycling shorts made of technical wicking fabrics are the answer. If you start sliming yourself with vaseline etc then expect a risk of all kinds of spotty, itchy issues.

seen a lot on the rugby pitch, the shorts under the shorts, as when you have muscular thighs they rub.

Compression shorts is what you need. Just make sure they are long enough to cover your thighs and a bit more as they work their way up your leg with any prolongued movement. Best shorts I have bought at the Addidas Techfit shorts.

You wear them under your normal shorts instead of underwear.

As others have said, compression shorts. I find the Nike Pro ones are best.

Yep the Nikepro range is good. Just please get the black or blue ones. They do white, pink, green and other gay colours that backs like to wear to match their boots.

Hah...glad I'm not the only one that suffers! I've actually found a bit of vaseline can work wonders....don't have any issues with anything else as a result! I might try compression shorts. I also have this problem when I play golf....when I rarely play 36 holes in a day if I don't put vaseline on I am walking like John Wayne come the last nine holes! Not funny...
