Tamiflu link to Narcolepsy in Europe
Discussion
Due to recent inexplicable incidents of extreme tiredness at work I visited my GP who thinks I may have I have sleep apnea. I have started to fall asleep at my desk in the office and this has started to happen most days.
I have Type 2 Diabetes and put the tiredness down to a combination of my medication, low sugar levels and poor sleep pattern at night.
However, by chance the wife and I saw a news report last week about the link between the Tamiflu vacceine used during the Swine Flu outbreak and Narcolepsy throughout Europe.
After a bit of research on the net it seems the name of the vacceine is the same one I had in November 2009 as a "person at risk of catching Swine Flu" due to my diabetes? There were two types of vacceine but only one identified with the link in the report.
According to the news report "experts say there are no reported cases in the UK". Well I have been referred to a specialist in November about my "sleep apnea".
I am now concerned that there may be many others like me in the UK who received the Tamiflu vacceine, are suffereing unexplained fatigue and sleep disorder and are unaware of the link that may exist between the two events.
Have any PH'ers suffered similar effects after the vacceine, are being treated for Narcolepsy or Sleep Apnea or know of anyone who is?
