Since the birth of my son (age 2.5) I have become a very light sleeper. I wake up at the slightest noise, be it the boy, or the cat scratching the door, or someone talking in the street. This is great for security as I literally hear everything - cats, birds, kids, etc.

The only problem is that I wake up so many times during the night, I do not fall into a deep sleep, and regularly wake up tired. I don't seem to get a solid sleep unless I am working nights, when sheer exhaustion takes over.

Any suggestions to help me get that 'better' sleep?

Earplugs are your friend. I have problems with anything, even the slightest noise, waking me but since trying foam earplugs I've been a lot better.

I'm the same, I cannot sleep at all without ear plugs now, I think I have become dependant on them. I'm also terrible if there's any light in the room. OH keeps saying I should sleep in a soundproof coffin frown
