painkillers and alcohol
Discussion
Some painkillers play havoc with your liver as does alcohol.
Some are safe to take with alcohol as long as you don't go mad, A couple of paracetamol for a headache shouldn't do any harm with a glass of wine. Your painkillers will come with a leaflet telling you if they shouldn't be taken with alcohol.

ahhh,....thus relief from the pain! (joking)but seriously though it would mean some sleep tonight. Cant get docs appt till tuesday so am havinbg to make do and get by.
Only at home and with hubby so i wont be stupid and only take half dose of co-co till bed time anyway so that i can actually function.
A few beers/wines and some codeine/paracetamol and provided you're an adult you'll be fine.Sleep like a baby.
Just don't make a habit of it.Haha.
Oh and not more than 3 or 4 nights on the trot.Diminishing returns and you'll start withdrawals, beginning with inability to sleep.
You're not supposed to mix them in case you pass out/sleep then puke then die.
Not many paracetamol. You knacker your liver and perish slowly!...Codeine and beer though...

As above and also - Aspirin and Alcohol can play havok with your stomache lining as well so possibly to be avoided if you suffer from indigestion/heartburn.
But in moderation I wouldn't worry too much unless you are taking a serious amount of Non-Steriodal Anti Inflammitory Drugs (NSAIDs list here http://www.lyberty.com/encyc/articles/nsaid.html ) like me
Remember quality of life and all that - a glass of fine Spanish Red or a decent Cotes DeRhonne isn't going to cause too many problems and if the pain killers only take the edge off a fine wine might be the difference between a bad day and an ok one.
