Creatine capsules
Discussion
Hi, i just need some advice. I have just bought some creatine capsules and it says recommended dosage is 1 capsule before workout, and 1 after.
Do i just take these and stop having protein shakes or do i drink them aswell? Also on rest days should i take 1 capsule in the morning and 1 in the evening? Thanks!

It depends what dosage each capsule is. It doesn't sound enough though to be honest. I've had creatine caps that i've had to take 5-6 caps. Standard dosage with powder is 10 grams a day for 5 days in your loading phase and then 5 grams a day for the rest of the cycle which is generally 4-6 weeks.
Keep taking your protein with creatine. And make sure you drink plenty of water.

Never heard of this Kre stuff, but MyProtien sell the same stuff with the same dosage so it must be right.
If you want a cheaper option, get this http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/creatine_monoh... £14 for 1kg which will last you about 3 months

If Creatine isn't loaded during the initial cycle you won't see any gains to it.
Most consider the caps less effective than the powder and it normally goes something like load for 5 days then maintanence each day.
It definately works but rather than blindly using it, you should have clear goals as to what you're trying to achieve with it and it should definately be used with either a high protein diet or protien suppliments.

New research has shown you don't need to load -infact loading used to give me some side effects such as toothache. Most consider the caps less effective than the powder and it normally goes something like load for 5 days then maintanence each day.

But I agree that powder is better although you can look a bit bloated with some powders - there are some 'non bloating' caps that i use.

I used to hear of users getting pretty bad spots using creatine. Is this still the case or was it exaggerated anyway?
Some do yes. I don't have the problem but I've seen it although it's difficult to know if it's not a combination of other factors, I don't know.
I have heard people saying different brands or types of creatine cause it moreso than others but this obviously isn't scientific, just gym talk and I've never had the problem.

Never ever had that problem. But I didn't start using it until I was in my 30s. Any spots I get are usually on my legs and due to the polystyrene type uniform trousers I have to wear.Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
